Laird Cregar is so thin here, I almost didn’t recognize him.

Terrific flick! I watch a lot of movies and I've never heard of this one or this director. Didn't expect much and was I very surprised. Great filmmaking, camera movement, lighting, dare I say mise-en-scene. Good movie! Then a very neat documentary about the director at the end, plus the preview trailer from its original release in 1942. Awesome!

I LOVE to find Tom Dugan in the credits! He could have easily replaced Curly with the Three Stooges.

I love a little well-made midcentury American movie like this. Got the gorgeous Adele Mara in it, and a couple of my favorite Old Time Radio stars John Dehner(Have Gun Will Travel) and Gerald Mohr(The Adventures of Phillip Marlowe). Loooved it!

What a lesser known noir gem this is! Cregar reminds me of Charles Laughton in his tortured brilliance akin to The Suspect.

I am 75. One fond memory was staying up with my mom to watch the Whistler rerun movies. This was my scary night movie. Staying up past 9:00 p.m. with just me and mom was a big treat ! If anyone gets to see all the Richard Dix movies you won't be disappointed.

Great movie. Laird had real stage presence. So sad he died so young. I think he would have had a long career. In the short few years that he acted, he dominated every scene. And George Sanders was always a class act. I can remember that he was the voice for Sheerkan , the tiger in the original animated “Jungle Book” . I always loved his voice.

A drunk and a braindead idiot . If that was the case id find someone in the phone book with the same last name . As long as they are kind , they would be in my will and get everything. Not the worthless drunk and the idiot. I wouldn't choose , they'd both be on the next train to hell.

Entertaining movie, and one actress reminded me of Meryl Streep in physical appearance. The storyline was reminiscent of a another movie, made in the 1940's. Irene Hervey was Jack Jones mother.Thank you,for showing this film.
