Thank you for discussing same-gender violence, mental illness, personality disorders, and abuse dynamics with efforts of conscious sensitivity. This was clearly a difficult scenario that caused a lasting sense of unsafety in her community and at the building, besides just the danger of the relationship. The exploitation of trauma bonding and possessiveness sounded terrifying. Glad she was able to leave those experiences and share what was learned from it all. The one thing I will add is that a * diagnosis does not define character. Mood disorders do not lead to guaranteed violence. ( Not sure it had been revealed in the trial when you discussed Ami's experience, but both AH and JD shared the dual diagnoses: ADHD & Bipolar. They both had traumatic childhoods involving abuse & adult addiction issues. Borderline personality disorder could've happened to either of them, based on adverse childhood experiences/ ACEs, but : One of the two people was proven to be physically violent, verbally, and emotionally abusive, AH.)

Trauma remains fresh in our mind and body until it's processed and released. Despite your abuser being gone, he will continue to impact you until you deal with the trauma and release him. It doesn't matter how many years have passed. I've known people that have tried to run from their trauma for 60 years and weren't successful until they went into therapy to address it. I hope you do the same so you can move forward without this trauma holding you back in life.

Her smoking pot is a downer to control her anxieties, narcissistic emotions. Saying she does not remember is her BS excuse. It does not affect your memory like that. JD saying he did not remember is bc it was lies. AH was lying to set up her story. duh. I bet she was also drugging him. Bad comparison. You had an AH relationship like JD. The difference between HER released video to TMZ, compared to the full version, that shows concerted recording, taunting and smirking, showing a GOTCHYA MOMENT... but it backfired... Not once did JD pose a threat to Heard, his body faced away from hers at all times.... she really thought she could show JD in a bad light... That farce, proved conclusively, that Johnny did not abuse her, as his anger was justified, and he took his temper out on inanimate objects... Heard has lied about EVERYTHING...

I am so sick and tired of hearing about how female accusers are supposedly never believed, *especially* in the context of the Depp/Heard case. Here's an example where the woman was believed on her word alone, for years, despite her complete lack of evidence and damningly, ample evidence to the contrary, that she was in fact the abuser. How the hell do people look at that set of facts and still regurgitate that odious piece of feminist dogma that women are never believed? It took years of lawsuits for Depp to clear his name and he was the ^%%$#^@ victim! It seems to me that, if anything, female accusers are a believed a little too much and that it would behoove society to treat them with a bare minimum of skepticism, especially if there is evidence and motive that points in the opposite direction.
@DrNafisaSekandari
@DrNafisaSekandari Год назад
I can see where you're coming from in certain cases, and specially in this case where you are correct, Amber was believed for 6 years and despite winning his case, Johnny still has an uphill battle b/c the media refuses to support him, but not all cases are the same. There are many women, and in Ami's case, same sex partnerships, where the woman is not believed and has to endure the slander of her character if she reports. I'm thinking of Gabby Petito where she wasn't believed and considered hysterical and dismissed. I hope what comes out of this whole ordeal is to simply believe VICTIMS...not just women, and not only men....but all VICTIMS! Don't assume someone is telling the truth due to their wealth or celebrity status and really look at both sides....if it's available. Thank God the trial was televised b/c otherwise all we would've seen was more spin.
@AliRadicali
@AliRadicali Год назад
@@DrNafisaSekandari The problem with "believing victims" is that you can't know who the actual victim is until all of the facts are revealed. "Believing victims" makes sense as an immediate response from say law enforcement or a DV shelter, when urgent help may be required. Believing victims can make sense if you are the family of friend of the alleged victim. But I absolutely do not want a fact finder to engage in victim-believing as it runs completely contrary to the goal of finding out the truth. I do not believe victims are so fragile that merely being questioned would prevent them from filing a report. I believe the truth can withstand a bare minimum of scrutiny, and it is in the best interests of victims that their report be vetted and confirmed true as soon as possible. Even if it were true that female accusers face undue scrutiny, and as I've said I don't believe that to be the case, trumpeting that around only serves to deter other victims from coming forward in a timely manner. And that is the worst part in all of this, IMO: The one way to guarantee more scrutiny and skepticism of a claim and much worse odds of proving it is to wait months or years before filing a report.

Yeah, so glad I stumbled into this! I love Ami & yes, she has some frt row info but am sorry about her DV. Soo many of us are in that club, it seems. I told someone the other day, in one of my college classes, it was an all female class & we were asked if we'd ever been violated raise our hands. Granted, it was a small class but every single hand went up!! The % of us is HUGE & that was 1980 so I'm sure now it's MUCH, MUCH HIGHER & that's not to say only females, obviously. I do believe there are MANY MEN but I believe many men do not come out or report their abuse. I think men & date rape are potentially are the highest % of unreported abuse. It's sickly fascinating ... Morbidly fascinating but I truly hope more men will see they can speak out & not feel they have to have millions of dollars to be able to fight that fight. I won't go into my own history but of the above, the date rape issue is one I've experienced & I told the "friends" who introduced me to the guy but when this occurred, they didn't believe me! Obviously not great friends but further, they didn't understand WHY I WASN'T ATTRACTED TO THE GUY!!! WASN'T ATTRACTED? HE EFFING R'D ME!!! Anyway, just wanted to speak a sec & thank you & Ami & yes, JD spent over $8 mil clearing his name. We can't fathom!!! I can relate to Ami's story. Controlling people tend to have issues with hitting hard & fast but it seems to quickly go downhill & it's either very high or VERY LOW, I find. It's very, very hard & like she said, the whole addiction/codependency thing is something I did in younger years. We try to fix & wind up getting broken. 💔 Sadly. But, thanks ladies... I've gotta sleep & don't wanna FEEL this rt now (sorry .. I'll re-watch) when I can give it my fullest attention. Anyway, good to hear you & Ami & thx!! Keep it up! 💞
