Depends on the wording in the law book. In most places they’ll refer to switch blades as a knife in which the blade is deployed with a spring from the push of a button or lever which in this case, yes makes this knife a type of switch blade. In Texas there are no more laws on “edged weapons” so it is legal here where we are. Hope this helps.
@@serenityknives im only in Texas for a summer assigment for the coast guard, im going to be going back to Connecticut later and im not sure if it will be legal for me to own there which worries me. I think it should be fine but better safe than sorry
That joke was made famous from a 1950's episode of "I LOVE LUCY". Before that it was a vaudeville joke. One of the oldest jokes in America. This joke is at least 80 years old. Offhand I can't think of an older one. Maybe why did the chicken cross the road. ??
Hi. I am zack worrell, owner and maker of Monolith Knives. The logos we do are done using electro-chemical etching and mostly we work in Damasteel, Stainless Damascus.
A lot of reviewers are complaining that it is overpriced and that it uses bearings and steel liners. What are your thoughts on that? Is there a better and cheaper alternative with titanium channel construction and bearings with a high quality steel blade?
Benchmade definitely has some overpriced knives as well as some great priced knives, with that said The Necron kind of sits in the middle and can be argued either way by someone who really holds their standard. Is there a better and cheaper alternative…..cheaper yes, better, that’s where it gets fuzzy. Titanium is going to increase the price significantly, so I doubt there is a cheaper Bali with titanium construction. The Necron feels very smooth as a Bali, they’ve gone back to their beginning origins in this knife so it really hits a lot of traditional aspects of a Bali, while we aren’t huge Bali flippers we all agree that it’s a great knife, it is slightly overpriced in our opinion but with Benchmade that price carries the great warranty they have insuring your knife will be with you for life. Thanks for the question!👍
@@serenityknives machinewise slift, $360. Brs replicant, $350. Most ti clones, sub $250. There are lots of ti options that i haven't mentioned. Benchmade rides on their name and the blade steel, when most balis nowadays are running bushings and ti handles, and s35vn, s45vn, or s30v blade steels for less I dont mean no disrespect, but benchmade knows what they were doing when making this
No disrespect taken here bud, we’ve been doing this awhile. Now in comparison to MachineWise and BRS, you could possibly be right, but how easy is it to get those two models right now? Brand new the Slift is no longer being made and the Replicant comes in CM 154 blade steel which by a lot of people is not better than s30v and it’s also sold out. Secondly, what is their warranty, if the knife is damaged or need repairs? Go ahead and keep naming other options, we honestly would love others to refer to, but when it comes to an easy to obtain production quality Bali with a good warranty there really isn’t much, and sorry but we aren’t in the business of clones, that’s always a toss up on quality with absolutely no warranty which when you’re spending at least over $200 we’ve noticed a lot of people like the security of a warranty. Yes Benchmade knows what they’re doing with the price of this knife, but they also can get it to you faster and with the security of having it for a very long time, which is why they are priced that way, do we agree on how they do it here in our shop, no not all the time, but we understand why they do it. Thanks for the reply👍
