Just a middle-aged, full-time working mom who loves make-up and all things beauty. My goal is to share my honest reviews with other women who just want to look good, no matter what age they are.
It's probably less expensive than the drunk elephant too. I'm obsessed with a drunk elephant bronzy drops, but it's so expensive for such a tiny little container. I'm definitely going to check this out! I have a similar complexion to you. I bet it would look just fantastic with probably one pump or using the two pumps to also spread onto the neck and the whole face. Anyway, thanks a lot! I'm going to go grab it!
I don’t know if I like it I haven’t been a fan of any of these glowy face products. Plus it low key looks like it gives you a little tan so I might skip ⏭️ on this one.
Loved this video! Would you say the Charlotte darling is similar to pillow talk dreams? I keep seeing it on Vinted but haven't been able to find a comparison. I love the super nudes pallette too and the formula is so lovely I'm assuming the darling pallette is the same? Thanks!
Shocked that I like the Paradise Pink! I am fair like you but cool toned. Had I not seen you sheer it out I never would have thought I could wear that. Will definitely be picking this up!!
Love these! I also have the Colour of Dreams and it is a beautiful shade. I like all the shades. I am drawn to the Red and Coral shades the most. Will be treating myself to these ready for my cruise! ❤
First, let me say I love your videos. When you first put it on I thought -GIRL-no. Glad it does settle down. It actually looked very good after you powdered. Like you I’m not a glowy dewey girl but sometimes you just want something quick you can put on. Not a fan of Flawless Filter so this could work. Good iob!
Love your reviews Shannon! It looks like a beautiful product for those who prefer this much glow. I like more of a natural finish! So I will skip this! Thank you for the excellent review!
I use her Flawless Filter for "your skin but better" 😊 and I think that does the same job and has a less "greasy looking" finish and does not emphasise texture. I feel like during the day my face would be an oily mess with this foundation 😅
I was so excited for this product. Like so excited. I have been waiting for a sheer coverage that is undetectable on the skin and blends easily. The stick form was a huge plus. This had the potential to be so amazing unfortunately it was a total miss for me. I bought 3 and 4. 3 is very yellow. And 4 matched my skin tone exactly but still somehow looked unnatural like not a real skin colour. It was exactly like smearing highlighter all over my face. It’s sheer coverage but look Very “ makeupy”. It looks like a full coverage foundation with zero coverage. It was very apparent that I had makeup all over my face. It looks more shiny and more unnatural than flawless filter no matter how little I put on. The formula is impressive and if this was a natural matte or satin finish it would have been almost perfect. I prefer my base to look like skin and not like makeup. This looks as unnatural as full coverage foundation from the early 90’s. Save your money. It also showed more texture on me than flawless filter. Just Ick
Thank you so much. I just got the Unreal Skin Tint video up if you are interested. And I am just wearing the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize in Pillow Talk.
I just bought the foundation stick because I am obsessed with my Merit and Basma sticks. I need these now. So pretty and all of them look great on you. Love your channel.
I just got the review up. It’s more glowy that Merit but very similar and easier to apply IMHO. The shine dulls a little as it dries down and I try to demonstrate that in my video. I’m planning to wear it a little more in the next week and try it with different primers to see how it works. It’s not a product for me, but with that said, I do like it and I think once i find a good combo, I will really like it.
It’s definitely mesmerizing. I don’t have any of CT quads but you got me intrigued. Maybe not this one as I have enough pink eyeshadows thanks to PMG but who knows…
I'd love to have Awake and Cotton Candy. Also when you showed the Mocha shade I had a feeling it would be your favorite. Lol. And it did look really pretty on you. You're lucky you're neutral and can pull a lot of shades off. One of my favorite powder blushes is Down Boy from The Balm. (A cool toned mauvey pink.) Idk if they even make it anymore? Also NARS Impassioned, which I think has been discontinued. I think the new shade Behave is probably similar. But it's a pretty dusty pinky lilac shade. And the other favorite is Diors Rosy Glow blush. So pretty!! Most of my new blushes are in cream formula. Like Fentys "Crush on Cupid", a bright cool pink. And the "Perfect Pink" shade by Makeup by Mario. (Actually those 2 shades are almost exactly the same swatched out.) I also love Rare Beauty's liquid blush in Hope. And Merits cream blush in Stockholm. They're all so pretty. I can't forget CTs liquid blush in Pillow Talk either. (Really want the matte version too!!) That being said, probably my number one blush of all, is the Maybelline bouncy blush in Pink Plum. It's just the most perfect light cool toned baby pink ever. It's pigmented enough to show up on my skin, but at the same time is hard to over do. And it wears really well because it's kind of a cream to powder formula. It's actually not being sold in stores anymore. But I was able to buy a new one of it on Ebay recently. I also did find a dupe if it on Yes Style. It's the Juicy Pang Jelly blush in Grape. (It's obviously not a grape color. Lol.) But I've swatched it beside the Maybelline blush, and it's an exact dupe. Which I'm SO happy about since the Maybelline versions are discontinued. Blush is probably my favorite makeup to use. I just can't get enough of it. Lipstick is a close second. 😊 Anyway thanks for the swatches and comparisons. It was really helpful!
Wow, you really know your blushes! Have your tried the lilac blush from GXVE? That was a surprise one for me. So pretty. I’ve always loved warm shades, even when they were out of style. However, with this channel, I have definitely expanded my style and try to get out of my box more often. Thank you for taking the time to share so much, I’m sure it will help others as well. 😘
@@shannonlovesmakeupOf course. I like to help people too, even if thru a comment. But when it comes to knowing things, the thing I'm more exposed to and know a lot about is perfume. I'm a little obsessed. Lol. Constantly buying news samples and decants. And yes, Iactually saw that GXVE shade on Sephora and added it to my favorites! Lol. I definitely want it!! I don't have any cream blushes that are a purple tone, but I do have a couple powder ones. One is actually from Maybelline (square black packaging) and I think it's just called Plum, and it's actually really pretty. The other is a really pretty lavender shade from a Clinique Pop Blush called Pansy, but I don't reach for it as much because I feel like I have to really work to build up the pigment. (I find that with their Heather and Pink shades of blush as well. But I do like those colors too, and the Heather shade is very close to the discontinued Nars Impassioned shade. Super pretty!!) That's really cool that you've gotten to extend your range and try new colors. And they all look good on you. Some are just even better than others. 😊
I have the original pillow talk shade and it never drys down-its always sticky and it fades during a normal working day . . . So the colour pay off doesn't last. What do you think? Have you worn them all day? 😊
I always set it with powder and then go over again so I get the glow. That makes it last. I just got these so I can’t speak on longevity, but I think these new shades are more pigmented. Especially the 3 bright shades. It was a pain to take off in between takes. I basically had to remove all the makeup from my cheeks and reapply. The original pillow talk one wasn’t like that. So the formula may have been improved a little.
Great review. Thanks for getting it out so quickly. I’ve already got the colour of dreams and love it. Think I’m going to order the beach peach and the paradise pink. Think the last one just reminds me too much of a bronzer. Do they smell like the original colour of dreams as I loved that smell?? Xx
So funny you mentioned the scent, because I hadn’t ever noticed that. I had to go and check. But no, there is no scent that I can detect from the new ones. I agree the sunset bronze is very much like a bronzer.
They don’t dry down completely. What I have done with the original shade is powder it to set it and then apply a little more to give it the glow. That makes it last longer. But they also aren’t sticky where my hair would get stuck in it. I do think these new ones are more pigmented than the original ones.
Thank you. I worked hard to get this out before anyone else so when I see these comments, it totally makes it worth it. I hope you enjoy the video and it helps you in your decision.
@@shannonlovesmakeup Definitely loved it! Especially because I forgot this product can be used in the lips too, so I appreciate the lip swatches! That Barbie pink actually looks AMAZING on you!
Funny enough, when I was editing it, I liked it a lot more than I thought I did. I actually liked how it looked. I’m now tempted to get the Colour Of Passion shade
@@shannonlovesmakeup I love the two OG shades and I absolutely love them, I think being a fellow warm fair girly, I can definitely tell it'd look amazing on you!

I just bought the 24 hr chubby eye pencil from sephora brand- Its the best pencil I ever bought. for oily eyes where liner never stays on, this product goes on perfectly and stays all day. Its completely sold out, except 2 shimmers and a matte. not sure if it will return (?). they have the skinny version, not as good.
I really feel after using Charlotte tilbury and hourglass ..the hourglass ones are much better in terms of longevity and formula..these ones are better especially as far as blurring out the lip line is concerned..one cannot distinguish between the lip pencil used and the natural lip line ! But yes the color options are pretty narrow as compared to CT ones ! Loved the video though ☺️💛
The problems I’m having with Hourglass is they break easily. I’m almost done with one and that is mainly because it breaks so easily and doesn’t sharpen easily (and breaks some more). They last amazingly well but for the price, they break too easily for me.
I've been interested in these glossy balms since they first came out, however, I'd be ordering online and all of the colors present as neutral or warm toned. I'm very cool toned, so if they had a cool toned pink, mauve or possibly even beige I'd probably get one. But when I looked they just don't seem to have any shades that I like or suit me. (And I'm one of the people that didn't love Pillow Talk, however I did like the liner) For reference, when you swatched the new Pinks from CT, the Red Carpet Pink would be a shade I would go for. (The one with Baby in the name that was your favorite was also one I liked) I also like sheer, bright cool toned pinks. So my every day faves are the Dior Glow balms in Raspberry and Ultra Pink. I'm light skin toned so they still show pretty well and look really nice. And of course I'm in love with the formula!!! 😍 I actually used to wear Nars Anna all the time years back. Such a unique cool toned mauvey pink. Anyway I hope they come out with some new shades, but the swatching definitely helped, because these DID look different on you than they did on the website. Thanks! 😊
I need a nude and golden are completly different , i have bouth and i love them but is not the same thing , this new are só amazing and brown and i need a nude is more pink 😊❤
90s Pink looked SO good on you!!! Wow. Total stand out imo. The muted red also looked really nice. But I was shocked at how much I liked the somewhat neutral bright pink on you. I felt like it made your eyes pop. 😊
I really appreciate how you organized your swatches. I think that really highlights the lack of differentiation. I love the packaging but I feel like that’s the reason I’d be buying it. I think she could have had a variation on a theme but with more variation. 😁
Yes, agree. Your swatches are great, especially since you do them in natural light, I can see the colors well. And then the labels on them are just icing on the cake! TY
Thank you. This is something new I started doing and feedback like this really helps. I agree that I wish there was more variation with the mattes. For me, I will get a lot of use out of it, because I love browns, but it’s not for everyone.
Thank you so much! Feedback like this really helps. It takes more time to do, but I feel like it makes for more helpful content. Thanks for watching and commenting
I haven’t had a problem with them wearing off easily, but they aren’t what I would say long wearing. I wore Angel on a night out and it lasted great. However, if you are looking for something really long lasting, check out the new liquid blush from Huda. Those are like a cross between a liquid blush and cheek stain. I wore those to a theme park last week and they lasted all day in the hot sun.
@@shannonlovesmakeup Thank you so much Shannon! I have never purchased anything except eyeshadows from Huda because of the fragrance. I was going to buy the new Blush Filter and I especially admire Huda's humanitarian work, but it looks very glowy. I am a mature customer so I cannot wear something that glowy to work unfortunately. I have the Armani which dries down matte and lasts all day even under a mask, no issues, but it is pricy so I would like to save it a bit rather than use it up
