I saw Dunkey Monkey in a jazz festival in Nantes, and was impressed at the drums, and their music which is delicate and very emotional. I had the great idea to purchase their cd at the end of the concert. I am glad to listen to it now. Yes, this weird, but this is creative!
If a busker was playing this in the street folks would think he was off his head. I can't find anything to like about this music if it can be called that. Complete rubbish and a waste of time and effort.
Eonta was of course an ultramodern piexe when it was written, but take some distance and listen carefully. This music is clearly antiphonel between the five brasses and the piano. This can only be a malicious hint at Venetian practices in S. Marco, Venice during the Renaissance.
I always find it so amusing in nonsense such as this to watch a conductor flap his wings in a certain traditional pattern (e.g. at 3:32 in 3) with the "music" having no hint aurally of 3 anywhere.
I always find it amusing to read nonsense such at this, watching a commenter flap his gums using traditional words (e.g. "pattern") in "criticism" that has no discernible point whatsoever.
By all measures one should find this music "screechy" yet it is not - therefore genius. Ftr, G F Haas and Manoury are screechers whose music sounds screechy. And therefore not genius.
