Magnificent Chris! Josh also insists they must have been aliens!! I think during the times of the ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Romans had reached a pinnacle of human achievement, that was destroyed by violence - the Greeks destroyed the Egyptians and the Romans beat the Greeks and then it all descended into chaos and anarchy! - Typical Men!! But all that still doesn’t explain how they did it!! Scaffolding, types of crains and lots of muscle perhaps?
👽👽👽 🤣🤣 I agree if these civilisations had continued un hindered with wars, can you imagine how advanced the world could be? A frames and pullies and unlimited slaves probably helped. Can't wait to see the pyramids at some point.
That’s fascinating Chris - I so admire ancient Greeks’ civilisation and achievements - was this Temple of Apollo around at the time of Christ, or even earlier? I know the Greeks were there for around four thousand years before the Turks, who arrived a thousand years ago but I’d love to know more!! Anymore pictures? Hope you had a wonderful time btw.
Construction goes back to the 7th century BC 😱 what incredible history. The byzantines built a church in the middle of it. It was ancient before they even got there. More videos to come. 😍
@@FoundInTheGroundFITG That’s Astonishing and wonderful - nearly seven hundred years before Jesus walked the earth!! Really looking forward to the next video - can hardly wait!
Great channel, good content, it is a no brainer. Plus Sarah is very cute :>D Congratulations, and it looks like you picked up a few more subs since Detectival.
The CoilTek that Adrian (The big Detecting Show) had? Easy to swing? Adrian said it was great for moving the stubble out of the way but felt light, an enigma.
I didn't say anything about an archeological dig. I was just wondering if you would like a screen to fit your bowl... You know, to enhance your smoking pleasure. It'd be a great conversation starter when getting together with friends for a relaxing time...
@@FoundInTheGroundFITG Thanks Chris, my first ever Romans. I found out tonight that I made Nicola’s review video. 😊 I just showed my sister in law her video and pointed out the pot of yours that I bought her that is shown on your table. It’s been an exciting night 😊
Ummm so yes, I'd be thrilled with the pipe bowl, truly... it's just that...I really want to zoom in a little closer to a couple of flint pieces I see there 🧐. Interesting shape on one at least 🤔.
I’d better not comment too much on Simon’s bits and bobs - but I’m not sure whether his strap end is part of his bits or his bobs but it’s very impressive!!
Why can’t Si say ‘best coin’? A threesome definitely sounds a bit worrying but I’m sure your twosome is wholesome - especially as you’ve got such a pretty wife in Si’s latest video!!
Saving my opinion until you've shown pt2, I'm anxious to see how the other machine performs straight out of the box. This was neat to watch. Cheers Chris
Looks a bit like a button. In other news all three people loved the pots you made and sold at Detectival. Two already have flowers in given to two family members. They all loved that you used a homemade 'Roman' kiln.
So good to hear Andrew. You will have to let me know how they stand up to soil and water in them. They are earthenware so I would expect over time water to pass through.
@@FoundInTheGroundFITG Just water and cut flowers in them Chris, no soil. They are totally water tight. Our own one is on a glass table so it would be noticeable. My daughter in Norfolk has hers on the kitchen worktop. Nice job 👍🇨🇦🇬🇧
Quite pretty, is it late Victorian or Edwardian and is it pinchbeck or brass? I found an Edwardian brass brooch which has a similar twist edging but a mosaic pattern in the middle, at Mersea island about six years ago. What does it look like after being properly cleaned/repaired, or don’t you approve of renovations?
@@FoundInTheGroundFITG That was sweet of you Chris. Mine is in Wivenhoe with Richard. I’ll send you a photo when I find it! I’m just off to see the Van Gogh exhibition at the National Gallery, London. Have a fabulous weekend!
