I caught a 22 pounder at the barge hole in Anderson on the Sac River about 1988 near battlecreek. I was 14 and had a cast on my arm. First time ever salmon fishing, nobody else caught anything all day around us. Caught him on a flatfish lure. Later that night I caught a cold.
Great video and solid editing! I just picked up a 14.5' Solo Skiff that's also roto molded over foam and it allows incredible 3 and 4 inch range. 8HP prop, as jet drive would be way too large for this skiff. Lot's of similar flexibilities between our two boats...
Catch and release is ridiculous! Fish are food and it is disrespectful to torture them for enjoyment. Catch the fish, eat the fish. Period. Bears do not release record sized fish to be "awesome". Eagles do not spare fish because of an inherent knowledge that fish needs to spawn and make more fish which it is ALSO not allowed to eat. Just dumb. Natural selection. Men are just another predator. Catch the fish, eat the fish. Period.
NICE! You should have been sniping for gold in that first spot. That looked prime. Next time, start fanning the dirt and watch what the fish do. They become like cats that are waiting for you to feed them.
@@denisehulette5935 I have never tried the Sidewinder but the one in the video will work most fine in pretty quick water. Just use the smaller fin that it comes with.
My dad caught an 80 pounder in the kenia at Harry"s hole. We released it on june 30. Could have kept it the next day back on the 90s. Nowadays I csnt help but think I might catch a grandson. Makes me cry every drift in front of Ruebens place
Here at torniojoki river in finland salmons dont "eat" anything when spawn trippin from ocean. But still it may bite to fly or lure. Does salmon behave same way in there?
@@neponen23 Yes, technically they aren’t feeding but I think the instinct to feed remains strong so therefore they continue to eat even when they are past that phase in their life cycle
I'd like try smoking trout so here I am. I also don't like a lot of fancy flavored brine/rubs in smoked fish. Can't go wrong with a basic brown sugar salt mix. Good video.
