I have an '08 G6 that I picked up cheap. It seems to have the hard-to-find grounding issue that causes intermittent traction control to turn off. Recently the transmission will intermittently have issues deciding on a gear. I'm off to Walmart to do this fix!
Hi. I tried your first version because I had all those symptoms and codes. The codes are gone but I still don’t shift gears and speedometer still doesn’t work. Should I do the double wire? Do you think that is the problem? Thanks!!!
Make sure you have a good grounding point. If there is rust and not a good bond metal to metal then it won't work. Im not sure if this doesn't fix, thanks for comment!
Thanks so very much for this tutorial. I was at my wits end trying to figure out what the problem was. I watched videos upon videos and gave each solution a try. After replacing Throttle Body, Spark Plugs, and Speed Sensor, I started getting different codes on the my code reader. That's when I changed tactics. There's a short somewhere and I just had to find it. Luckily, it was the wiring to the Speed Sensor. Got those two patched up and did the TCM ground mod. After resetting the computer and all, the car is running fine with no issues at all. BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE ELECTRONICS IN YOUR VEHICLE, MAKE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST. Yes I know, most people already knows this. This is for those that tend to forget. Yes, I were one of those people. Hope this helps anyone with the same issue that I've had.
Mire cuando los cambios patean en G5s y Cobalts, la solución para la gran mayoría estuvo en eso del vídeo. Yo conecte a tierra el TCM pero sigo en las mismas. Fui a algunos talleres pero noto q nomás evaden y otros no ven nada ref a transmisiones. Ojo, hay gente q compro en vano el módulo nuevo.
My mom's car is having these exact issues and a shop she went to said it needs a new transmission. Never did the mechanic address power steering issue. If this works you have saved me time and a lot of chasing. I will definitely be back to give my update
Ok now what do we do if we have a manual transmission (no tmc) with all these issues I've looked everywhere my cod scanner used to work with my vehicle now there no communication from it a own a 2006 chevy cobalt if anyone can help me please it will be very helpful
