We enjoy road tripping in southern Africa and want to capture something better than a continuous, boring dash cam video. This is a unique style of "timelapse" dashcam video - a minute by minute series of video clips. Boring clips are not discarded - this is what it really feels like! But 20X faster than in real life.
The camera automatically records for 3 seconds every minute of the journey. The camera is controlled by a hacked remote control which has a microprocessor added to it. (We can manually trigger the camera to record if something interesting is spotted)
Hey, I will be visiting cape town very soon and planning to drive from there to mossel bay. I heard and read about how it can get dangerous on n2 when passing by airport/townships. Can I use the N1? Is it safer? Just wants to be on the safe side and dont make a mistake on n2
My nerves are shot...at the speed! I kept thinking if a dog or child ran out...especially on bo Piketberg, with the school on the road...! Pity these trips aren't recorded in Spring, when the world is green! There is a small pass through Piketberg mountain from Sauer, into Kapteinskloof and goes north to Redelinghuys and back to Piketberg. Also turns left to Aurora.Lovely to go slow, open the window and have mountain right there, the fynbos herbs coming into car. Nice for people to experience.
Thank you for this video. Although I've been to Tulbagh, (I've always loved the town), Ceres, Wolesley and Piketberg, your trip to Bokkeveld was great - I'm already planning a trip to the area. Regards, Neil in Cape Town.
Is your RU-vid display set to a high resolution? (If you give me the time in the video where there is a potentially interesting sign, I will tell you what it says)
Fantastic views of Cape Town . From the white beach sands to the inner city . The music 🎼 in the background is very nice . Who produced such good music can I ask ? Watching from the UK 🇬🇧 🌎
I must say Masi has changed considerably since the late 1990s when I had to do an on-site inspection for the Council to assess assets pending taking over the township. No containers and limited spa shops.
GoPro Hero8 set 2.7K 25fps linear. Special cooling and a matt black felt dash cover. Hacked remote control that forces 3 seconds of recording every minute
Hi, I use a GoPro Hero8 set at 2.7K, 25fps, linear. The smart bit is a hacked remote control that forces 3 seconds of video every minute, and a couple of other things.
Drove this road every day to and back from RBRTSN to CPT for close to 3 and a half years here in the 2008 - 2011 time frame when I had to fight in the WC High Court against a crime syndicate that embezzled my business and life earnings away from me. Beautiful Rd else I would not have been able to do that.
