- I’ve literally just uploaded Footprints In The Sand by Alexis French: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2nN2rxOQS6w.htmlsi=DI_FmGmfoybumUcy
Is it the dotted crotchet rhythms with this exercise in particular that you’re struggling with? I can pop together a short vid explaining how I tackle this with my students if you like?
I did see this (and have watched you clap them and think you’re amazing as they’re so complicated!!), however I don’t think we’re quite at grade 8 yet with my 9 year old son. Just about getting the hang of grade 2! He’s doing great though 💪
I have also been using MTB for many of my students in the last couple of years and recognise all these pros and cons. However, by far the hardest thing for me has been the one about student motivation- some of my pupils simply do need that target of the actual 'exam day' and so for those I'm sticking with the ABRSM visit to the school. Also some parents expect ABRSM because of the prestige element. However, personally I much prefer MTB, especially for the lower grades where I can simply use the app to do an audio recording. Thanks for your review- it's always good to hear another music teacher's viewpoint!
I totally agree! There’s not that pressure to be exam ready in the same way. Yes, some parents do expect ABRSM, and some schools too for scholarships, I hope that in time this will change :). Thanks for watching!
Brilliant , very informative and interesting . The seasonal playlist once again brings a calm and chilled vibe to learning . Looking forward to the next installment 😊 .
Very interesting and informative . Any music teacher supporting or equally a student in the midst of grade 8 learning would find this video most helpful , brilliant , Thank you 🙂
Beautiful , a most relaxing watch on a day like today , cold outside . Very interesting indeed , each segment of music was a pleasure to hear . From the introduction to the end it was very tranquil and soothing . Thank you 🙂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁
Wonderful , very interesting . Great to see a lesson full of learning and talent. Yes he certainly can play , very well indeed . With all the rhythm exercises I have actually been clapping and tapping while watching 😊 . Thank you .
Thanks so much! It would have been nice to do a bit more on his performance piece but we really wanted to see what was physically possible in 20 mins :)
Thanks Joan! It’s often not until you’ve used a product or service for a while that you’re able to make a proper assessment, so thought now was the right time :)
