I searched for lyrics for Dry and Dusty and couldn’t find any so here are lyrics…Verse: Well we’ll dream of the pour in a old parched land, and we’ll skip along the edges Where the tune goes on for miles and miles and the glass flows o’er the edges Oh turn my ladies on the dime of the day When sun goes down in the evening Set a line in the dirt and the fiddle will play Thirteen drams and we’ll all sail away Chorus: Dry and dusty, Dry and dusty Turn the plates in the cupboard on time Dry and dusty the old man did cry Or we’ll chew the sandy come suppertime .

My father spent some time in Fiji on his way to war in Burma during WW2. One of my fondest memories as a boy was my veteran father playing Isa Lei on our old piano in the living room of our home and me trying to sing along with the english words on the old sheets of music he had. Thank you for this beautiful rendition.

You have so much presence and carrisma before you play a note. So cool! You play beautifully. Those basses buzzing through my bones. Just simply gorgeous. I know just how hard lap steel is!!!!
Hello Doug. It’s a negro spiritual. Black people who came to faith on the farms in America sung in their gatherings Christian music. They had it very difficult but God gave them strength and they wrote songs about it
