Original baroque violins had shorter neck especially, among all the differences. Strad violins we see today had to extend their neck slightly longer in order to be able to play in modern standards and tuning. So in short, 99% of Strad and Guar violins we see today are repaired and modified in accordance to modern standards, requirements and technology. No original Strad
