Hi,just come across your channel, you picked up a bargain there, i just bought a 2017 ST3 Powershift Cat S with 73k for 4.5k from Copart same as you it came with no books or service history and no locking wheel nut ( paid $45 for a replacement from e-bay ) it has very light front end damage just the bumper, headlight and bonnet no way should it be a cat s, but i have bought a few cars fom Copart now and most of the Cat S cars i have bought have been questionable Cat Ss with the damage. Do you still have the old bonnet? if you do i would take it off you for some beer money thanks and good luck with the car.
So gutted for u. my M8 has got a focus st M2 spent thousands on it & a delivery drive mounted the curb & hit it. wing & door had to be replaced along with the front alloy that was cracked. Fingers crossed you get you're beautiful car back and running future classic ford
Quite rare for a car to be a CAT N nowadays, most insurances just go straight to writing it off as a cat S. it will have very little effect on insurance compared.
I feel your pain on those seized caliper retaining screws - just changed the discs on my wife's Mini Cooper and had to "fight" two of them with a drill and then drive 10 miles to a BMW/Mini dealer to buy two new ones. 😃
I considered DIY, but doing it proffesionaly costs ranges from 40 to 80 pounds. In my opinion money well spent compare to price of restoration kits, and the fact that if you do it for the first time it will not be done as pro.
I remember I recently purchased a mk1 TT for scrap value and a garage quoted me £450 to do my rear ball joints on my 1.8t Quattro.. however in the 5 months it spent parked my rear shockers have collapsed with rust going all the way through, never put all your faith in one and trust one garage not too try and rip you off, if you dedicate your loyalty they will soon begin trying to exploit your kindness and maybe even think your gullible and naive.. it kind of makes me glad I wanted to learn to replace shock absorbers myself because I actually saw what I’d have been charged £450 for, £60 total off Euro Car Parts and 20 minutes with a jackstand she’ll be good for another year.. I nearly sold this car on marketplace as well 🤦🏻😂
