HI, English Longbow Field archer here, Now Maybe I am not seeing things properly or maybe the classification is different in this but, these look like American Flatbows to me. anyone able to clarify? NOTE: this is in no way a dig at this, I am just curious. :)
Seems to be Intuitive Archery, not at all longbow. And it sure does look intuitive when you look at their aiming - they are not looking arrow's tip at all. Well done. I wonder the distance?
Yes but it has no shelf so you trade of energy against precision. Our archery association always pushed the asiatic bows into the Bowhunter category and you had no chance there but against a Longbow ? Those are pretty close.
Beautiful match of traditional instinctive shooting. Split fingers, two eyes open focused on the spot and let the body making the right and smooth movements to make the arrow reach the spot. I liked the style of Jana.
under world archery rules jonas' s fingers are too far under the arrow and will disqualify him. for longbow , it is either split finger or if you use three under the fingers can only be just under the nock and not down the string. obviously they are not shooting under world archery rules.
This is absurd. They're rushing to make their shots because on person goes behind the other on one team. They need to alternate by teams, not team members so that simultaneously a member of the opposite team can be at the line with an arrow loaded. This rushing through the shot and running away is a race, not a team vs team.
As a long-time Longbowman, shooting with a 70 lbs yew bow, linen string and appropriately weighted arrows, I immediately noticed Alessia Milo's very dirty release that led to her defeat. Lena, despite using an under-nock grip, not exactly suited to a longbow, has a decidedly better posture and release. Well done Lena!
Just a question about your scoring. In the gold area is it not marked as 9 for the outer ring then 10 for the next ring and 10/ X for the inner ring? You seem to be scoring a 9 for the 10 ring and 10 only for the X ring. Is that because of the 12 metre distance?
Hi Mat, for compound in all distances then the X ring is the 10, and the 10 ring is a 9 (like we know from recurve and barebow). Usually we don't see the normal 10 ring on a compound target face but we are just using standard target faces here so it can be more confusing 😅
I agree with the first commenter. This competition is a joy to watch. And hats off to the commentators as well! They did a wonderful job. Very entertaining
I love watching archery when it is a competition but the participants are so obviously having FUN . That's why I watch everything you guys put on RU-vid. Keep up the good work and best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺
