I did this job today on my transit. My window looks identical to yours. From Van Demon. I found that my window didn't sit flush until I cut out slits to accommodate the three vertical supports on the glass which sit proud.
With lots of wiggling! I used a tethlon wire to feed it through, but it was a solid 5-10 min task of folding the back silicon connector around while pushing to eventually get it through
Did Mr Redwood mandate you put this song in, in exchange for the footage, perchance? The amount of times he's told me he loves it and wants to do it, but didn't have cool enough footage! :P
I spent way too long doing my main video, so with the stuff left over i just asked what song he wanted and stuck it on. Thankfully i like the song, but have always thought it was too fast for a kayaking vid.
Its a Sony AS-30. I much prefer side mounting cameras as you can hear the beeps when kayaking. avoids a lot of "oi mate, is my red light on". As for helmet in view, i have to remember to have it angled just outwards of strait, otherwise (as you can see in over videos) it can catch my helmet. I would imagine if you mounted a session there without some outward tilt its going to be a lot of helmet. Also worth saying that a session will be even more lopsided than my helmet is now haha. I miss when contour used to make nice cameras
Thanks for the fast reply. I started with a sony, wish the shape was more ergonomical. They get great footage. My favorite was my Ion but the footage was shit. It would vibrate when you turned it on.
I was a big contour fanboy because of the slide on-off switch. Alas they are dead, and really gopro has the best image quality but (for kayaking in my opinion) worst ergonomics. Unsure what to get next, though a 360 camera is tempting haha
I want a 360 as well but waiting for image quality to be there. I ama river guide and work with GoPro's 3-5 a lot and I really like the session 4. They are super cheap since the release of the 5 and get great audio. The Beep when you turn it on and off is loud enough to be heard in most eddys.
