@6V92TA Actually right about 79 - 97 was awesome... the 80s were great actually so were the seventies and even the sixties... so just the 00's suck really.

Guess what we now have slick tyres again and no traction control. Bloody shame the cars look so small and stupid now and the engines are no more powerfull than 1997!!

I don't know what's wrong with me but I really love Jerez :P. I think it's one of the coolest tracks in F1 (comparable to spa and the likes).

Technology has been advanced too much to bring racing like the 90's back if you ask me. Even with the rules of 1997, the bigger teams would be able to push the development sooo much further than the smaller teams - nothing would change IMO
@rich1701
@rich1701 15 лет назад
What they need to do is bring back v10s, get rid of the plank underneath the car, and bring titanium skid blocks to produce more sparks! Then i would be happy

Yeah I know about the river, but as i replied earlier, thats something that engineers could relatively easy cover in a way that still allow the water to flow under, and make room to move the wall further away! It could be done, no question about that! Its just a matter of will! (and money)
@GTElwood
@GTElwood 15 лет назад
Usually are made with concrete ,handmaded or molded. Fixed with bolts sometimes, expecially the molded ones, got holes or tiny channels for water drainage. Sometimes are coloured with special paint, doesn't became slippery even in wet condition. Satisfied? ^__^
@Michaelingolfhansen
@Michaelingolfhansen 15 лет назад
Agree...could cover that small part of the river that flows just behind Tamburello, in a way that allow the water to pass under! And then there would be space to move the wall futher away and reconstruct the old Tamburello corner!!! And then remove the Variante Alta chicane, making a long back straight! This would make Imola a low-medium downforce highspeed circuit, which F1 deffinetely could use! Now we only have Monza and Montreal as low-downforce circuits!
@Michaelingolfhansen
@Michaelingolfhansen 15 лет назад
Dont you meen that some of the TRACKS now is boring...and NOT F1 itself! The last two seasons were just amazing!!!...but could have been even more fun with the old Hockenheim, old Imola layout and Jerez etc. But F1 boring?!...NOPE!!!

well they dont use tc any more and all of the extra body work actually improves car performance but ok whatever u say. i mean does it seriously offend u guys that much? it was the sh*t and still is the sh*t

Bullshit no tc will have a huge effect - just watch the testing vids at jerez - out of the hairpin 9/10 are getting power snaps and fuking up there exit - plus starts wont be determined by the quality of the cars launch control and people can now fuck up starts and or get a true flier....it will be awesome.

he means the teams of 1997 that had V8's, the lesser teams.
@OriginalDaVe
@OriginalDaVe 16 лет назад
I agree with the first half of your post. Downforce only becomes a great help at higher speeds so accelerating out of corners they'll still have to struggle. The change to V8s will be the main reason that they won't struggle anywhere near the amount that they used to.
@Chris-Workshop
@Chris-Workshop 16 лет назад
not entirely true... michael schumacher had a V8 1994 in his benetton ford, along with V10s and V12s in the field. now that's what i wanna see again, some engineering, progress and competition. the heck with expensive f1, it's f1 for god's sake ;-)
@aaron0288
@aaron0288 16 лет назад
oh come on. up until f1, like most drivers, they were all in cars with no tc, and hamilton won the gp2 championship with ease, and that was in a 600bhp + no tc car. and anyway, the amount of downforce f1 cars have nowadays means that having no tc is not going to make that much difference.
