It is completely unglued from the orchestra. The orchestra play the orchestral part of Saint Saens violin concerto no.3 op 61 and he play another concerto. A sound that has nothing to do musically, just exhibitionism and technical display. Great violinist and great technique and musicality but this isn't Sain Saens violin concerto.
@@Dog-op4mk he plays only the notes fo the concerto for example if I play Bach like play Brahms, I don't play Bach. This is only empty exhibitionism and it seems he doesn't understand what does he play.
@@MyTunerLock I don't know how familiar you are with gypsy music, but not many people are, consisting people that play this piece. If you know what gypsy music is, you can hear how much influenced saint saens was by it. I think mr Kelemen knows exactly what he is doing, as he knows the background of this music. Indeed Bach is much more one sided, but Saint Saens heard many other kinds of music, which here the musician embraces very much, and maybe i agree a bit to much. But saying he doesn't know what he is doing is a bit too much
This is a reduced Concertgebouw orchestra but Eschkenazy is there and many other principals as well. What a wonderful performance by Kelemen, as always!!!
I'm learning violin and quite new to the broader classical music outside the pop culture classics. I know most people complain about The Algorithm but in this case it brought me to this the day after being posted. Amazing music maybe I'll be able to play myself one of these days.
You should listen to Hilary Hahn’s Sibelius violin concerto(2019) and her Prokofiev violin concerto. They are amazing! I had the opportunity to hear her Sibelius live it was amazing!
@@Dog-op4mk There's something about Hahn's tone, crisp and powerful sound, and her artistic choices that I don't find elsewhere. I love the grittiness she gets out of her violin and its what makes her my favorite violinist
@@TacticalStrikei listened to the prokofiev of hilary but i just didnt like it sadly. Compared to this it was just so boring. Just compare the start of the 3rd movement. Mr Kelemen uses the elements so much musically
@@Dog-op4mk In my opinion Hilary's version has a lot more energy as compared to this interpretation which was slower and felt quite heavy rather than energetic. But I guess everyone has their own taste!
