Lord have mercy. Can’t believe he put that many fish in that little tank. Even with liquid oxygen going in that is way too many fish for that little tank. Sure hope he didn’t have to go far with them. Crappie don’t stress out too bad so u can get away with crowding them a little more then other species but still I know dam well all those fish didn’t make it. No telling how many he lost. What did live was stressed the hell out I assure you. Based on what u just say idk that I would buy any fish from them. I know one thing for sure, they couldn’t raise hybrid stripe bass or large mouth that’s for sure. You put that many large mouth or hybrid stripe bass in a tank that small an they would never make it. May live for a few days but they would eventually die. Bet the oxygen in that tank was near 0 in no time. An for those that don’t know, when the oxygen drops down to like 1-2 the fish will not die immediately. They may live another few days but will eventually die due to being stressed out. They could come stock your pond an the fish swim off as if they are ok an then three days later 90% of them die due to low oxygen levels when being hauled an due to the way they were handled. He was dipping way too many fish at the time. Think about the fish on the bottom of that net. They had prolly 20lbs of fish on top of them. Don’t u think that would stress them out an damage them??
In 1987 a friend and I put a bucket or two full of crappies in a pond that the state dug out for clay on one of it expressways, they now catch 17” crappies in it , we also put in a few nice catfish in but I never heard anything about them
I wish lake mead would stock Crappie. We have a very small Crappie population. Instead we stock trout which I don't know one who fish for trout in lake mead
I live in Ohio and have visited 2 hatcheries owned by the state, Interesting to say the least. If your state has one, Take a trip. But call first. They will tell you when they are in full swing, I learned a lot about the Walleye in Ohio this way
you didnt listen to the man in the video explain that he and the company that employs him supply the dnr and private lake owners with fish to be stocked into lakes for fishing.
My god whats wrong with people. The man owns the pond, he raises crappie in that pond for sale to be stocked in other lakes and ponds. The fish are not dead or stunted just healthy juveniles that will one day grow to giants in th right environment. Can't understand why this has to be explained. Interesting video btw, thanks for posting.
It means, the boat tank was too full to add morefish. We can only have so many fish per gallon of water, too many in the boat tank could kill them. We did go back and a few times to get the rest.
