Just got a hold of one for $1000 from Dell's Outlet site. I've been seeing them on eBay going for $1400 for the Nvidia one and only 1 with All AMD parts that went for 1300 so I'd say it's not a terrible deal imo.
Hello a question this computer is recommended used for the military ( national guard) because i want use by a lot of information and a little bit for games
I thought mine had a busted speaker as the boot up sound on the ROG logo sounds cracked. It seems it's just that way. I have a 2021 G14 and its boot up sound sounds more full.
So far i heared, the Lenovo Legion 7 Pro gen 9 (16inch AMD) has THIS chassis with a Ryzen 9 8955HX or G 55w (dual Z1 Extreme cpu) in it and the new RTX 5090 (max 100w+25w dynamic) Basically a real Ryzen 9 7950X + RTX 4080 desktop performance in 16inch thin 100% aluminium chassis.
I got it on sale for $989. Last one left on the display. I paid for 32gb of Ram (Crucial) and a 3tb ssd from them also. Everything all together plus the upgrade fee with insurance was $1450 for me. Well worth it and a major upgrade from my Lenovo 3050ti laptop
When you turn off the RGB keyboard and shutdown the laptop, does the RGB keyboard turn back on when you turn on the laptop or does the RGB keyboard turn on for a few seconds then turn off on its own?
I picked up a version of the machine today at Best Buy. I believe you indicated the tested version had 16gb of ram. The one I purchased today from my local Best Buy had 32gb or ram. Initially it ran a bit hot until I took it off of my desktop mat. I would highly recommend to have this on a surface with a bit of clearance underneath. It runs quick and very quiet, to this point.
On the slim 7i gen 8, the laptop have issue that it unable to shut off power for the dGPU in cold boot. In Vantage and LLT will show that it is iGPU mode only but the dGPU still consume power like 8-10W. So every time I turn on the system even in sleep mode, I have to swap from iGPU -> Hybrid-> iGPU again for the laptop to fully cut power to the dGPU. This will lower 8-10W, so from 25-30W total on battery to 15-20W total on battery, extend the battery life. This is a bug that Lenovo never fix on the Intel version of Slim 7 gen 8. It gets very annoying ever time I use the laptop.
@@TrungLe-dw1mm Good afternoon. I have not. I personally do not have a need to run the laptop on that configuration. To be honest, I purchased the machine for its NVIDIA card. From what I gather from your posts, you had issues when you would go back and forth between the onboard video and the NVIDIA card, correct?
@@joshuaharding6216 I have not. I had to return the machine. There was something wrong with the hinge and squeaked every time I would closed the lid. If you can afford the cost, I would contact Lenovo and see if you can negotiate a discount on the Legion Pro 7i, which is what I ended up getting. Runs a bunch cooler.
Yesterday I had a drama with the Asus Tuf FA617 model: when using Photoshop it had an intermittent power-on screen, however, on a desktop that same file does NOT have any problem. TUF FA617 data • AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS Mobile Processor (8-core/16-thread, 16MB L3 cache, up to 4.7 GHz max boost) • AMD Radeon RX 7600S, up to 95W (Smart Shift), 8GB GDDR6 • 16GB DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM I will have to wait several days to send it to service, it has 8 days of use in video editing and graphic design. Did anyone have the same problem? I hope NO, it is very unpleasant to be without work for a few days.
