F8 is a South African climbing channel! Its creators, Naadirah and Catie hope to showcase women (and sometimes Travis) crushing in South Africa while highlighting this country’s amazing outdoor areas and world-class setting in our local gyms.
We aim to publish two new videos each month! Please do subscribe to support us and keep on top of new releases! If there’s anything you’d like to see more of or you have any feedback (we’re a new channel figuring this out as we go along) please drop us a message :)
FYI, strong fingers can't save you on a lot of those climbs. What you actually need is strong wrists - so-called wrist flexors, to be specific. There are plenty of exercises out there to find if you do a search. Working some of those in the lead up would almost certainly lead to a less frustrating Yosemite bouldering experience on a future trip. Cheers!
The camera falling scene is probably my favourite RU-vid climbing content I've seen in a long time. You deffos couldnt script that 😅 Sick video. Looks haaard there. Very cool though :)
When I was there last winter some of the area was cordoned off due to rock fall, but a bunch of boulders were still accessible. I'm not sure what the situation is now though
Can’t express how much I enjoy watching your videos. Seeing a fellow South African, making climbing RU-vid videos, in Bloc 11, is just so awesome. Can’t wait to be back in CT to go here again!
Where did Tiffany get that Thom guy, at the husband store? Hint: When he talks about how big your bum is and then gives you a kiss, it's not "mockery," it's making after dinner plans.😅 Worst case, it's just a random compliment. And he cooks 5-star meals? Note to Thom: Please stop making the rest of us look bad. Thanks.
Hey Tiffany, I'm essentially going through the same thing currently. Years of abuse from work have compounded into lower back spasms, extreme nerve pain, and bilateral leg burning. Turns out it's a few, very, herniated discs with some other issues. I haven't given up on climbing., but have to take a break from it for the time being. Yoga has made a magnificent change in my mentality towards it all, but your story is really inspiring and gives me hope!
This is mandatory viewing for new climbers! Nice video. I've been binge watching all your videos since I discovered your videos the other day. I love them all.
Lovely film! I know it was not really the point of the film, but what were the boulders in the first sections? We are contemplating a trip to Rocklands, but are not hardcore boulderers (20 / 21 sport routes are our usual fair) , so we need good landings and manageable grades.
Thanks so much! 😊 The first two boulders were at an area called Powerlines (super easy approach and known for its high concentration of moderates). First boulder is The Prow 7A and the second is L’arete 7A+. There are a bunch of easier lines there too (with good landings)!
Was fighting a fire up there today. Went looking for these boulders after. Are they realy overgrown around the base now? Found some boulders but saw no chalk marks and really sketchy plant growth 1:53
For Font, I use a higher left layback pinch to start on, this is about 20cm above the starting layback you use. This gets around the issue of the leg getting in the way. I also use a layback about 20cm above this instead of using the lefthand sloper you use. Fun route, thanks for the video.
