Thanks, it was interesting to see the old photos. I was taken to the cinema occasionally in the 1950s and early 1960s and then used the pool more or less regularly. Before that the choices were the Danson Park lido (when it was open) and Eltham Baths, a bus or bike ride away. I moved away from Sidcup in 1996 and have noticed quite a few changes on my occasional visits since.

I was born above A.d Brennan pub no 25 Patrick's Street ( later Birchalls) the song writer J.P mcCall was born in the same pub, he wrote Follow me up to Carlow, and Boolavogue. Would love if you had photo of the pub.. brought many a rabbit in the petshop. Went to the Holy Faith school around the corner, where Sister Bernard tried her best to beat things into me.
The big Morristons supermarket closed, and the land sold for new flats and high rises. The garage was pulled down, and today, a smaller Morristons supermarket occupies this site.

The song is not we wanna boogie. It's mac Curtis half hearted love. Or I've farted love we used to say. It's not his version of the sun record by sonny Burges we wanna boogie.
We also had a pretty great Rockabilly family here in the US back then and through the early 2000s... I recognize some of the faces in this video, too... I really do miss that "International Family". I miss those days.
