Believe it or not she gave an even more intense performance of this song in Atlanta. I swear she had an orgasm at the end. It’s no longer on i Utube. 😪
Come on Eileen Come on Eileen Poor old Johnny Ray Sounded sad upon the radio He moved a million hearts in mono Our mothers used To sing along, who'd blame them You're grown (a grown up), so grown (so grown up), now I must say more than ever (Come on Eileen) Toora loora toora loo rye aye And we can sing just like our fathers Come on Eileen, oh I swear (well he means) At this moment, you mean everything You in that dress, oh my thoughts I confess Verge on dirty Ah come on Eileen Come on Eileen These people round here Wear beaten down eyes Sunk in smoke dried faces Resigned to what their fate is But not us (no never), no not us (no never) We are far too young and clever Remember Toora loora toora loo rye aye Eileen I'll hum this tune forever Eileen I'll hum this tune forever Come on Eileen oh I swear (well he means) Ah come on, let's take off everything That pretty red dress, oh Eileen tell him yes Ah come on let's, Ah come on Eileen Come on Eileen oh I swear (well he means) At this moment you mean everything Come on Eileen too-loo rye-aye Come on Eileen too-loo rye-aye Toora toora-too-loora Oh, Eileen Oh, Eileen We are far too young and clever and things wont ever change I say toora loora toora loo rye aye Come on Eileen, oh I swear (well he means) At this moment, you mean everything to me You mean everything
Are the videographer and director with their bouncy unsteady camera work and frenzied, premature cutting trying to make us sea sick? This kind of cinematography became popular around the time of Woodstock and it's time to retire it as cliched and annoying. It's also disrespectful to the artists and their work. Sarah and Jennifer are spectacularly good on this number.
Great cover! Jennifer Nettles, as a performer, just owns the stage. Both Jennifer and Sara have great voices, but Jennifer has so much more physical investment in the performance.
When the weight of the world Breaks down so strong it Leaves footprints on the street And theres too many miles to face Without a few more hours sleep The storm clouds overhead wont shed Any rain to quench your thirst I wanna be the one you reach for first When your faith is stretched so thin You can see right through your soul And you cant find a nickel to buy a smile cause all your pockets all got holes You wanna shut the door and Hide before the day can get much worse I wanna be the one you reach for first Fall into me My arms are opened wide And you don't have to say a word Cause I already see That its hard And your scared And your tired And it hurts And I wanna be the one you reach for first I wanna be the bottle you've been drinkin' with your eyes Or the road you run away on You've been runnin' all your life The third row pew that you last knew As a child in church I wanna be the one your reach for first Fall into me My arms are opened wide And you don't have to say a word Cause I already see That its hard And your scared And your tired And it hurts And I wanna be the one you reach for first Before your turn the key Before you fall asleep Before your drift away To find some demons waiting for you In your dreams Before your arms stretched wide open Before you're reaching for the sky Before your searching for direction And all the answers to your life Fall into me My arms are opened wide And you don't have to say a word Cause I already see That its hard And your scared And your tired And it hurts And I wanna be the one you reach for first
