I could totally get into watching matches from this perspective. Probably would help a lot with learning the maps, and positioning. A spectator mode in HLL would be great, with some restrictions ofc so you can’t use it to cheat. I play console so if it exists already egg on my face lol

I still wish the stream would have stayed on. There's something quite enjoyable about a Hell Let Loose Match being streamed. OH well, at least the recording was saveable! :)
In Sq44? Reading your name, I suppose you're Dutch, correct? Maybe consider PIB - they are nice folks, rooted in both public and realism, and AFAIK regaining strength.
I'm thinking of trying this game coming from HLL since I'm getting tired of the same issues again and again with that game. Would you recommend Squad 44 over a game like HLL?
Squad44 has its own issues with bugs, weird mechanics and a lack of onboarding -bit similar to HLL. I still highly recommend picking up Squad44. The game costs 28 € / $ and when it is on sale, it drops to 14 € / $ on Steam. Other shops apparently also sell it for even less. If you came from HLL, I think its worth a try. I still can get fun out of both games, but currently, I enjoy Squad44 more as a player. (Still casting HLL Matches though).
It depends on what you are looking for. HLL defo more arcady, Sq44 more immersive, particularly the realism branch of the game with its realism mod. It's true it's still a buggy game but it's being constantly overhauled and improved, new devs are closely in touch with players, developments mostly reasonable.
The whole concept of one side having an insane height advantage is...problematic. Then half the map is a chokepoint... Maybe one day we get a dinghy for engineers to paddle over. :D
