This was four years ago…ive not seen her for some time…i didnt upload publicly untill now as I wasnt sure how she would be received. But, she wants to speak to a wider audience, and what better than this medium. I think she has great courage, and i admire her.
That is true. However this was a novus ordo Latin Mass. you wouldn’t expect a Papal Nucio to say a Tridentine Mass and expect to keep his job his house or his salary would you? No!
May Jesus Christ be forever praised, ever present Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar! Greetings and prayers from Poland!
It does the proper Latin Mass as our ancestors did. Nothing added and nothing taken out. it is truly beautiful experience true Roman Catholicism by people who really do care.
Misa Tridentina, qué regalo del cielo! , eleva el espíritu a Dios, nos acerca al Sacrificio de Jesús, invita al recogimiento.. qué Gracia tener la posibilidad de asistir!
It’s by Vaughan Williams. From the English Folk Song Suit - The first march which is called "Seventeen Come Sunday” (the choice was between this or Holst’s Cotswolds Symphony)
Quite literally a hidden gem….hard to get in too, as door sticker instructions were completely wrong. Birmingham diocese doing a great job to keep it hidden
If you’re a cradle Catholic you’d appreciate that a Priest is an Altus Christus….another Christ..and there’s a custom that a newly ordained Priest - who’s hands are anointed with Holy Oils to be worthy to touch and handle Christ in the Holy Eucharist (another reason why no one except a priest should touch the Eucharist and therefore should not receive communion on the hand) - gives his first blessing to his parents and to those present at his ordination, and they get to kiss his hands that are anointed. There’s also a beautiful tradition that when a priest is about to die and he’s anointed with Holy oils at extreme unction, the oils are applied to the back of his hands and not the palms, which have already been anointed at his ordination.
When the Newly ordained Priest’s hands are anointed, to be made Holy, they are alo bound by a linen cloth called a manutergium, (it also has a practical purpose of soaking up the oils) and there is a beautiful custom of presenting the manutergium to the priest’s mother, who keeps it throughout her lifetime and then is buried with her own hands bound by it. According to tradition, when she comes before Our Lord, he says to her: “I have given you life. What have you given to me?” She hands him the manutergium and responds, “I have given you my son as a priest.” At this, Jesus grants her entry into paradise.
I love this Alter ,reminded me of our olden days Alter not facing the people but facing the Holy Cross and the Alter rails are still standind.Praise the Lord God Almighty 🙏 and give thanks to Him.Amen.
I just watched Tenebrae straight from the Cathedral Basilica of Nossa Senhora do Pilar in São João Del Rei, Minas Gerais, Brazil, where it has never stopped being performed. The Benedictus was in Gregorian Chant alternated with music by Father José Maria Xavier, a former parish priest and local composer from the 19th century. Also author of the responsories.
You’re too kind…all filmed on an iPhone and edited with suitable music (in this case Alison Balsom playing Benedetto Marcello’s oboe concerto in c minor). There are a few other churches, and a castle or two on my Chanel Lux de Coelo (light from heaven) for you to enjoy…..
