Great reactions mate, this guy is really good. But as a foot noteabout Taras, he can do all his beatboxing without post production. I didn't grow up on beatboxing, but Taras has really impressed me with pure talent. As well he produces and mixes all his own stuff, but anyway enjoyed this guy. Keep up the good reactions, greetings from Australia
Thank you, Rick! Appreciate the kind words. And I have seen a few clips of his live streams now. He definitely can do a lot of it without post production. I think the post production just levels it up. Gives it a layer of oomph. I do hope it's clear in my reactions that I 100% love the talent that goes into all of this even if what we get isn't quite my cup of tea. I've spent way too much time in front of mirrors or noodling in the car trying to figure out how to make some of these sounds with my mouthhole, and it definitely takes way more practice, experimentation, and talent than some folks give beatboxing credit for. Also: say hello to the bearded dragons and carpet pythons for me! :D (fun fact: I actually have a spotted python at home, which is native to Australia! Y'all have some cool critters).
I didn't have quite that harsh of a view, but I wouldn't have called myself a fan of the art form. Didn't dislike it. Just didn't seek it out. This guy, as he did for you, has changed that.
To do a liproll, you have to make that "sideface" only because the sound is generated from the pressure against your lips & jaw. Depending on the pitch you're going for, the jaw has to drop at a certain angle to adjust the larynx. The tongue also plays a part. Btw, Taras is doing "Sub bass," it's another version of the liproll used to inhale air, he made it very clear on a livestream lol. Welcome to the "Taras Effect" it's a fun rabbit hole to explore. Looking forward to more Taras / Ya Na Ha reactions from you.
Great reaction! In light of your preference for more musical beatbox songs, try these: Hiss, Gene Shinozaki, NaPoM - Fading (Official Video) // Hiss, Alexinho, Colaps, River' - If only (Official Video) // Jairo GBB2023 Elimination (One Last Kiss-Get Lucky-Fuego/Beatbox Remix)
Haha sideface sounds like a villain that ran out of cool names a lip roll is what it is and honestly im so happy you came out with that sideface as deserves its own video views and likes brother much love an respect from england 🏴 🏴 🏴 sideface il never be able 1 to not laugh and go to that before taras lmfao hahaaa and 2 be able to not think a content creators mom come out with it but also why not capitalise on the wave right now get them views brother lol uk 🇬🇧 massive 🇬🇧
He is doing what's called a lip roll. Thats how he gets that bassy sound. Taras is a musical genius!! You should also check out Ya Na Ha - Get Up! Taras is in that group as well!!! Taras is the best there is!!!
His older livestreams were just in Russian, but his newer ones he speaks both Russian and English. I don't know if you've heard of Ya Na Ha, they're a beatbox crew that Taras is part of, but they have a new song "Get Up" that you should check out. ❤
If we talk about the way of technique of reproducing sounds, of course everyone has his own method. Compare, for example, how Helium and Improver do it in their latest works. And also it is well seen in the duet of Taras and Improver in the composition ZHU - Faded. As for the musical theory of beatboxing, it is forming now. There is a very good interview with him where he just discusses this topic, but it is not translated. But some of it he said on the stream of your colleague AR (The TARAS STANIN Podcast), there in English.
I've seen the Faded rendition. That one is very cool. I love the idea of having multiple beatboxers working together to create a cohesive sound! And glad to hear that beatboxing is developing its theory. That's very exciting! Thanks for stopping by!
He’s got a 6 min long video where he’s doing heavy beatboxing with some singing involved, but it’s a perfect example of just how much he’s holding back. Kind of like someone driving a corvette at the speed limit. Hope that makes sense. The video is on the Swiss Beatbox channel. If you do a search for Swiss beatbox Taras Stanin you’ll find it. And trust me, that 6 minutes goes fast you get so caught up in it. And it gets better and better to the end. He’s a powerful beatboxer. Love your reactions, and thanks for reacting to another Taras video.
Thanks for stopping by and for the kind words! I'll put that on my list of stuff to check out. I'm really enjoying offering my unvarnished reactions to these things, and I'm glad folks like yourself are enjoying them. It's also awesome to learn new things and have commenters share stuff I didn't know existed :D
Jestem z Polski.Mam 73 lata i nigdy nie zachwycałam się beatboxem. Poruszył mnie i zachwycił talent Tarasa. Uważam go za geniusza muzycznego i próbuję zainteresować jego twórczością moje 13 wnucząt.Jestem nim oczarowana.Jego bezbłędne wyczucie rytmu i techniki, które stosuje, czynią z Niego mistrza.
I feel you... i've listened to this - and some of his other creations - at least a 100 times and still i'm hungry for more. It's so addictive and hypnotic
Can you please check out Improver - Feelin Good? Its incredible and it has post production as well❤❤ Aside from that, this was incredible. The way he can change notes so easily is crazy.
You got it. May take me a hot minute, but I'll take a look at that, too! And, yeah. SHOW-GO's control is really remarkable. It may not be exactly my preference in beatboxing, but I greatly respect his abilities here. I don't get how you can switch so easily between different sounds, and yet he does it! Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. Appreciate it!
Think this is good?? Check out his cover of SAME. The guy has just re-written the rule book on beatboxing just like PENTATONIX re-wrote the rule book on "A Cappella". Bloody amazing and talented young lad. Stanas and Improver, folks go and support both these amazing beatboxers👍👍
Thats sound is called a lip roll. Thetes a beatboxer called napom eho popularized it and is arguably the best in the world at it. I suggest you watch his gbb 2021 elimination. His gbb 2023 compilation is a good follow up ,he uses some incredible low subby bass via lip rolls in that competition.
2:30 binaural interference, yeah. methinks it has to do with his throat bass doing one length and his lippos doing a slightly detuned frequency of the same, lip rolls are harder to control than singing, hence. 5:50 yeah, an inward roll with chest bass actually, but the idea is the same. that's actually easier for me to do, like don't have to think about it at all when doing it.
Thanks for the detail! I'm using my intuition to try to understand what is going on, but it helps a lot to have this kind of specificity. Keep practicing! :)
As far as I understood, you are talking about liproll. Which is very popular sound in beatbox for a few years. Everyone can do it, but it takes time... I've been training for about a month to make liproll and liproll bass sound more or less good.
Great reaction! Taras is simply amazing. I think “old school” beatboxing will always be there and continue to get better in its own right, but I feel like he’s creating almost a new genre that bridges the gap to reach people outside of the beatbox community, like me & gets them more interested in listening to beatbox. There are several I listen to now. There are a lot of talented and impressive beatboxers out there, but I never sought out beatbox to listen to for enjoyment until Taras came across my feed. The way Taras puts it all together is SO audibly pleasing, I can’t get enough of it. I encourage everyone to go to Taras Stanin’s channel & support him by subscribing & interacting with his content. Thanks again for the reaction! And for the word “mouth-hole”. Ima have to start using that 😅😂
Thanks for stopping by! Appreciate it. And I agree. It is like a rollercoaster. Very unexpected to find him in my recs not that long ago. Glad it happened!
What we are all hearing is what Taras thinks beatboxing should be like. It should be music and he's out there trying to show the world it is and he's doing a beautiful job of it. This is one of my favorites. My other favorite is his original song "Same" and you should definitely check out Ya Na Ha's (a beatbox crew Taras is part of) new release "Get Up". Thank you for reacting to Taras again! ❤
I will add that to my queue, too! Thanks for the suggestion. I'd only slightly push back here to say that I don't think all beatboxing should be "music" in the way that Stanin presents it. I think we need all that experimentation and strangeness and less-musical-ness because you never know what new technique you and I don't like might turn into the new sound we do like. But I agree totally that THIS is the kind of stuff I want to listen to the most. It's really REALLY good stuff :D.
The "wet bass noise" is an inward hollow liproll. You basically breathe in through the side of your lips. It's a balance between applying tension and relaxing your lips. It is really close to the regular inward liproll and other variations so when your learn one you can more easily do the others and then have more variety in your beats. NaPoM has been known for being really good at it, check out "NaPoM - Dip" to see by yourself
Great reaction.💖 To showcase Taris's beatbox skills and power I highly recommend taking a look at - Taris Stanin 2x Russian Beatbox Champion . Over 6 minutes of pure excellence.🔥 It can be found on swiss beatbox channel .
Dawned on me that I did this for the first reaction and not for this one. So I'm going to change the thumbnail for this one. Thanks for seeing that. My brain didn't make the connection.
Helium is another great beatboxer I'd recommend checking out. His beatboxing is some of the cleanest and most precise I've heard, it's insane. His latest video is a cover of Requiem For A Dream. Side note - the "o" in Improver is pronounced like the "o" in "to"
Thanks for the correction. I've got another video where I get that wrong, but I'll fix it in the future! Also: I will absolutely check out Helium!!! :D
@@alphabetstreams I hope it didn't come across as rude, it's an easy one to mispronounce. I enjoy watching reactions to people who are jumping in feet first with beatboxing, lol. My intro was about 10 years ago with beatboxers that were part of a capella groups, so it didn't seem an as abrupt mind-blowing experience; but what they can do is still insane, and continues to amaze me every time! If you'd like more beatboxer suggestions just say so, and I hope you continue to enjoy your journey down the crazy rabbit hole of beatboxing! 😊
@@Drakainas._.heart._. you're all good! I took the correction as intended. Let's see how checking out Show Go and Helium works! Maybe I'll get lost in the rabbit hole forever.
For Push he upgraded some of his stuff in his studio, he said that's why it's sounds so much better. Always fun to see reaction from people like me who at first didn't knew anything about beatbox tomorow it's realease time for this teaser go see that short ''YA NA HA - Get Up (TEASER)''
