I have the same rifle. I'm about to pass some things I learned about it. Feeding. The Magpul mag it came with is picky about what it'll feed cleanly. ELDM feeds beautifully. Everything else I've tried is horrible. MDT poly mags work great. Problem is they fit extremely tight. Like, difficult to get them to seat and release. Carefully sanding down the mag catch with sanding sticks solves this. They seat easily and drop easily but still don't have front to back slop. Sand a little bit at a time and test frequently until they fit just loosely enough. Mcarbo trigger spring is a worthwhile upgrade. And easy to install. Hornady American Gunner is very accurate for the distances I have access to, and it's significantly cheaper (like 40 cents or more per round) than their match ammo. The best group I've ever shot was using it. 0.37" for five shots off of a bipod and rear bag. The Magpul high ceek piece kit is available and pretty reasonably priced. Helped me a lot with eye alignment with the cheek weld I want to achieve.
I started reloading around Covid, was only trying to go long maybe a year before that. It’s been a progression. Built the REM 700 up with new chassis and other gadgets, but the Ammo has set it off. factory ammo is crap. I’m now shooting less than 1 moa at 700 yards consistently with Hornady 168gr. ELD in front of 44grains of 4064… it’s an amazing feeling.
I just purchased the same one. I was not impressed, definitely not reliable for self defense. I had to send mine back into auto ordnance to be fixed. It was definitely a failure to feed issue. When I received the gun the all the furniture was loose and the rear fixed sight was loose. It's under warranty but damn I payed 1,700 for mine. I expected it to operate flawlessly.
@@iloveshootingshit all in what you like, I guess. I'm a hunter so I choose 25-06 or 308. Good old school traditional hunting cals. Just never got all the creed hype
