I was recommended your channel and on a short and you’re tone is better than the older videos but can still be improved. Some suggestions I will say is to do more long tones/exercise books such as Klose book or jazz specific book like repository of scalic and melodic patterns by Yusef Lateef, I think you try to rush the swing feel sometimes which makes it seem more choppy a lot of that should be done in articulation and not the length of the note but it depends on the musician, for starting out you could buy a real book to learn the head and chord progression of jazz standards (although some are not the original key in the recording if you are really good you should be able to play a song in all 12 keys), also you can do transcription avoid harder players like Coltrane initially and start with someone like Miles Davis or do easier solos that you can search for online (if possible avoid sheet music transcriptions as you are not training your ear), also try to focus on articulation and jazz techniques see if you can do something like Johnny Hodges maybe.
Y’all know where i can find af1 for Bb clarinet, cause one that’s better than transposing, two, a jazzy clarinet playing that? Holy hell would that be good, but I can’t find any stuff for clarinet anywhere at all
So happy to hear actual saxophone sound. You are one of the few to let evryone hear the wondrous sound of the Soprano unfiltered. Keep posting, you inspire many of us ❤
First 20 seconds were clean as hell but if you made it more clear and less messy at 0:46 i think itd be a whole lot better cause it seems kinda just mushed together there
