I've had my 19 Ford Ranger 4x4 2.3L ecoboost 10 speed overdrive with 125k miles for almost 3 years and it's been a good truck I like it, but it's just too small for me now. Half the engine is made out of plastic so I don't really expect it to last too long after it's paid off. So I think I'm going to trade it for a 2003 F250 6.0L v8 diesel with 150k miles for $9k and cut my payment in half and extend the pay off by 8 months instead of keep the ranger that is too small for my dogs. Would like to save and buy something outright instead but it will take me 2-3 years to save that much and I'm stuck in payments for that long regardless.
wow i'm not even from america and yet i watched the whole video lol. You have a great gift of keeping the viewer engaged with your commentary keep making them videos
Only thing you can do is keep your current vehicle or buy a good used one and keep it on the road. Then the prices will come down. One issue I am seeing right now is parts are few they purposely purged tons of parts during the pandemic which will make keeping some older vehicles on the road and people will be forced to pay the extreme prices if we do not say NO now! Just say no to buying new keep your oldie going and force the auto makers to change.
Every car manufacturer decided they want to go up-market. We have trucks with entertainment systems, plush seats, electronic gadgets of every description, monster wheels, hug grills and problematic engines for the price that most people payed for their first house. Did no one do the math? Did no one figure out the the market for road going palatial mansions is very limited? My 1997 Ford F150 with the V6 is still good and will cost less to pop a rebuilt engine in than a new truck. I can't impress my neighbor but who cares.
Yeah...stop buying....en masse!! But, that will never happen so guys like us and you will keep on make bitch videos since we keep buying em......and round and round we go!!
For starters: 1 - so driving your current cars as if they were race cars. 2- keep up on maintenance. These 2 will help prolong the life of your current vehicle. 3- stop buying when it isn't necessary. No one is forcing you. Stay with what you have and make it last.
Thoughts? Repossessions are increased year over year, last 4 years. Loan delinquencies, up, year over year, last 4 years. Used car sales are up in a buyers market. Overstock on Ford, GM, Jeep, Dodge, 10's-20's months. Stock on Ford down and falling 60% since 2022, GM down 33% since 2022. Toyota stock down 31% since March 2024. Compliments, Housing is tanking, and foreclosures are up. Tough to buy a new cars if you can't afford a house.
I just bought similar Kia Niro Ev (without heat pump) 2 weeks ago. I got 2300 km. It is just awesome! First time electric car I used maybe related with it but It has space, It has power, It has style. In Türkiye electric cars cheaper than ICE brothers. It was the first reason to choose an electric car. I can completely suggest Kia Niro Ev. Good review mate! Keep it up!
I would love to have automatic high beams in my car. I drive on a lot of windy wooded roads with deer and to be able to focus on driving instead of having to constantly worry about turning off my high beams so I don't blind another driver coming around a corner would be great.
It is my perception that to maximize ones energy usage and minimize one's battery anxiety, one needs TWO EV cars and a set of solar panels in the back yard to charge each car and swap cars every other day. Or have a bank of batteries in the garage to charge a car at night and recharge the garage bank during the day with the solar panels. In any case, the electrical power grid cannot support every car in the nation to be an EV. In CA we are experiencing some rolling blackout scenarios. Also the fire hazard in that lithium batteries must burn themselves out, along with the garage. Also a fender bender bump can total out the EV car, because of the possibility of a future fire issue. My property and house are 95% off grid and I use lead acid batteries because of the fire hazard. No EV for me until the battery technology changes from lithium to something safe.
Of course its a reality and they are falling. My car was totalled by an idiot that hit me no insurance no license. Now im sure my insurance will just low ball it anyways
The real problem right now is interest rates.. These higher interest rates really reveal how bad we are doing as an economy. What people don't realize is manufacturers are not on your side. They are on the side of making money. Gone are the days where simple cars were easily able to be fixed and stay on the road for over 10 years. These new vehicles are all junk and look like a little toy.
Did you just compliment a Lightning and Mach E? Not that I'd ever own one but you're first person I've ever heard say something nice about them. Both are crap stains on a cool legacy of cars. I can't believe Ford did that except hoping people would buy them because of the name.
Hey Mikey! I agree, my "dream car" showed up at a dealer near me. it was a $99,999 German sports car produced in 2014, sold as a 2015. Now had 6 owners, 59,+++ miles, CPO and they're asking $68,999 plus tax, $430 in fees which is reasonable. If they give me avg trade for my car and I add $20K with a 8++ FICO score the payment will be $700/mo. I'll drag it out and if it doesn't sell by the 3rd week of the month I'll see how bad they want to move it.
Yea i own a mbz cls550 as well, wonderful car but they do NOT hold their value worth a damn….ive came to the conclusion that i will run it till the wheels fall off……besides i paid cash for it, i dont believe in car payments….all 7 of my cars were paid in full!!!
The average transaction prices is falling, but only because the high-end vehicles aren't selling. What is moving are the lower to mid tier units. The $70,000 plus vehicles, mostly trucks and SUV's, is the problem at hand. There are the 2022 and 2023 leftover new vehicles too, that can't move to the high price and the dealer's lack of desire to heavily discount. Your points about negative equity (being underwater) and/or add-on and adjustments are valid but the consumer's desire to purchase vehicles that are $40,000 or less is driving the declining "average selling transaction" number that is buzzing the internet folks.......
We have a 17 Rogue we bought new. I heard the same scary stories regarding the CVT. Of course AFTER I bought the SUV….Sooooo what I have done to ensure longevity of the CVT I have simply serviced the CVT at the dealership at 30k and again at 60k. They charged me roughly $200 each time. So far we have 78k miles now and have had ZERO issues. I like your loaded Sentra! Beautiful interior!
Great review. 👍. You mention that the car hesitates a little after stopping and starting, is this too long so that people honk at you? Alsi when backing up is the noise too loud and can you adjust that?
