Loved the AC Origins soundbite you put in as you got Amunet's disc. Very nice. I have been following this series for a while now. I love you approach to telling the story. Keep up the good work. Safety and peace.

No word again about the Brotherhood, the Templars, the sword of Eden, Master Assassin Hatori and the CREED. Yes... All of these take place in the same timeline of AC Shadows. Let me guess... It will be another boring story and family drama with the protagonists' interests and the game's narrative that run parallel with the brotherhood's but never align. Like in AC Odyssey and Valhalla lol. The game's identity is in question since 2018 (I won't compare Mirage the 15 hrs game) because the protagonists despise the Creed! They don't want to act on behalf of the Creed/Hidden Ones, they despise it lol. Have you forgotten the misleading marketing campaign of AC Valhalla featuring Eivor with the hidden blade? The Blade is back! The old-school AC is back and in the end, Eivor refuses to become a Hidden One and carries the blade as a piece of steel hahahaha. Let me guess what will happen in AC Shadows... It will be another boring story and family drama with the protagonists' interests and the game's narrative running parallel with the brotherhood's but never aligning. Like in AC Odyssey and Valhalla lol

See I lowered my expectations a whole lot even when I first saw the announcement trailer. I told myself don’t expect it to be like any of the older games or even Mirage, it’s just another rpg AC game. That’s allowed me to still be excited to dive into their depiction of feudal Japan, plus I love games set somewhere in Asia in general. And if I know one thing its that Ubisoft does make impressive looking worlds the issue is just what they put in it😭

I'm still excited for the game and cautiously optimistic, but im no fool at the end still a Ubisoft game lol. But even Quebec being the developer and they didn't focusing specifically in the assassin's fantasy I believe still has things to classic fan looking forward, Quebec is usually great at polishiment and interesting content in there games, if the game be even better in this aspects the game already is a win, other promise aspect is the focus and improvement of the stealth, Assassin's Creed needs this for ages at this points and more the lack of triplo A stealth games is insulting, basically the last game in the gener with this escope was MGS V in 2015, yes almost a decade ago, we are getting old, so a game with this mass appeal puting back stealth in the spotlight is exciting for the future of the gener and future AC games, the parkour and the combat is where everyone is more concern for good reason but let's see what the marketing can bring to us util the realese and both can prooth them selfs when we actually play, like the case of parkour in Mirage, so let's wait and judge all the systems and mechanics of thier flaws and merits when we play, to conclud I absolutely agree about the poor response of Ubisoft about the racists attacks on the game, it's crazy the cowardness of the PR department in Ubisoft or Lucasfilm dealing with that kind of shit.

Personally, I'm still hoping the game will at least be good and most things will be sorted out before release. But we have to remember that this is Ubisoft and listening to the community is not in their nature (especially from Quebec studio) I suppose now the marketing campaign will start in full force so we'll see what else comes out.

I really love your videos, keep going like that! I think that Bleeding Effect is one of the most important features of AC, the fact is that Ubisoft was going to invent some other complicated things that we do not need in my opinion, like Sages, reincarnations, immortality etc, this are complicated things to explain in a rational and already complex world like the Ac one, while what we really need was the bleeding effect and the difference of this complication from one subject to another. I'd really like the Idea of experience the modern day but during the 80s etc, while Abstergo was doing experiments on the First Subjects and then find ourselves in 2012 after some amount of games. In this way we can see how bleeding effect spread in extreme and uncontrolled circumstances.

Thank you for Bringing this Subject up I have the Sam mentality, I Love all the Assassins Creed Games, no matter how many Flaws they have, whether it's linier or RPG,along as tne Characters and Story are interesting and it Draws me in then I'm satisfied, as someone who really Loves Syndicate being British to me it's easier to understand tbe sence of Humor that's being used, but everyone has their own Opinions I just feel like The Later Assassins Creed games get hated on too much because it tried something different and there's nothing wrong with experimenting.

Sorry dude I don’t agree. Everyone is entitled to their favorite game and if people like AC Odyssey and Valhalla, go for it. But you cannot tell me that they are objectively “good” AC games because they’re not. They not god “AC games” because they directly contradict so many elements that establish AC games as a whole and contradict points in the overall story of the series. Desmond being hyped up as the chosen one and requiring several games to train himself and find the right artifact to complete his mission and save the world…jeopardized by Kassandra having lived underground in Atlantis for thousands of years and greeting Layla Hasan to “pass the torch”. Thats just one of many huge reasons as to why I simply cannot accept that Odyssey is a good AC game and Ubisoft can stick up their asses.

Yep, I've always thought about this and had never understood why Ubisoft continued to ignore the modern day. But growing up I realised it's because Ubisoft doesn't care, not really. It's just a plot device to put gamers in their seats and explore the next historical setting. But originally Patrice made this game series with the historical setting as the plot device in service for the modern day. Why are we going back in AC1? Because Abstergo needs the map projected by the apple witnessed by Altair. Why in AC2? because Ezio discovered a hidden message in the depths of the Roman papacy and revealed the location of the apple of eden in AC Brotherhood (and so on).

Great video! I think the problem of modern day in the reception of the general public and of some fans of the saga is that Ubisoft, from the point of view of marketing for the launch of a game or from the point of view of Merchandising, has never made mention of modern day, the stars of the situation are the Assassins, the setting etc. In any case, the modern day is crucial for Assassin's Creed, where it is not present, the game seems like a minor project because it is not supported by any story to use an unknown character in a random setting, while the choice of these was initially justified by the presence of ancient ISU artifacts in that context and period. The fact of the animus changing from game to game based on modern day Lore is perfect and I've always thought so, but don't you think that lately this thing has disappeared? In the sense that the HUD is more guided by the RPG game system than by the fact that in the present there is a reason for those certain things, wouldn't it be better to go back to the basics in this sense?
@Jesusofsuburbia-22
@Jesusofsuburbia-22 2 месяца назад
1st comment!! The modern day is the core of the franchise, without it assassin's creed wouldn't be as unique. And without it, assassin's creed wouldn't be the same. (I'm open for discussion)

I love the story and characters more than the gameplay, but I understand this was a pretty new concept for the time, and it could be seen as testing out the sandbox world and what could be done within it. then with the release of AC2 the gameplay improved tremendously.

Assassin's creed 1, playing it when I was 7 years old, I was in love the moment I played it, it's where I found my love for history, ac2 was my favorite for a long time, but when I started replaying the first one, like you said in you're video, it's like a fine wine, gets better with age, thanks for sharing you're thoughts, it brought back alot of memories of the game, from when I was younger. There's something about the mysterious, cold and dark tone of the game, you're playing a character, apart of this cult of assassins, I haven't played, any other game in the series, that feels the same way ac 1 feels.

I agree 100% Because I've been thinking about the same thing for some time now. Od course assassins strive to do good, they want people to be free and like you said - to not go through what they themselves had to endure. And the means by which they want to accomplish the goal? Killing. How can people like that be happy? Each of them went through their own personal tragedies that changed them. And to top it all, they want to bring peace and freedom by ending lifes. I personally think that at the end of the day assassin's are "the good guys". But an assassin can not be happy. At least not before a lot of time passess, before they go through a healing process but those things take years of work. Of course, an assassin can be (and as we see, is) witty and charming, cracking jokes etc. Besides people have many different ways of coping with their trauma, they all act slightly differently from each other, after "their own respectful tragedies" if I can call it that. But an assassin's life is a life filled with loss. Loss of closed ones, that falls upon a protagonist (an assassin) and a loss which they themselves cause by ending people's lifes. Such person can not be the happiest of the bunch.

9:08 Is it murder? People tend to think that any time a person kills another person, that it is murder. But anyone who has thought about the details realizes that it is not always the case. Context matters when prescribing guilt and fault in matters of death.

This is why I never liked your videos. You’re pushing your views onto the rest of us portraying them as the correct way and how things should be. You do realize that Ezio, Edward, Connor and even to an extent Altair’s endings were happy at least for them? Because in most contexts they’re still pretty tragic even if it was mostly happy. Altair was happily married to Maria for many years and had two children with him, but both one son and his wife were killed-Maria by his own hand-and he died alone in Masiaf of old age. The only solace was that he got to say goodbye to his only surviving son. Ezio was happily married to Sofia and had two children, but he died of a heart attack when his daughter was only nine and right in front of her. Embers is a sad film for a fucking reason. Edward was happily married and was able to raise his kids up until he was killed right in front of Haytham in a home invasion. And Connor, so far as I know, faired the best as he had three kids and died of old age but unfortunately was never able to reconnect with his tribe. Assassins always have tragic lives even after getting “happy” endings because sometimes that just how life works. It’s not because they’re killers and don’t deserve it. Jesus Christ. Are you serious right now with that asinine take?!

They definitely tried to evoke a sense in Arno that he never really moved on with his father's death until he came to terms with Elise's death in Dead Kings in the way he always pulls out his pocket watch and also tries to retrieve his pocket watch that always keeps getting stolen, but it was definitely a story element they fell short on.

You missed the point. In history, the original Assassin's creed were annihilated by the VERY STRONG MONGOL EMPIRE. These were made up (a game that just needs 1-3, but it got milked out too much). A better end is let ASSASSIN'S CREED 1, 2, AND 3 end there, but you know how gaming industry just say hey it sells well.......MAKE MORE. Don't cry on made up stuff and just focus on real ones (look outside). Gaming industry is dying ok, just go and find something worthwhile.

About Ezio, in Ac Revelations he decided to give up with Assassins life after murdering all that innocents in Cappadocia, various elements about it for example in Valhalla's files, suggests that he was truly traumatised by his later actions and he lived with it, in fact during Ac Ember he was truly stressed and sad. I also love the Arno story (they all criticized it for no reason), his all life was a sequence of tragedies, because he had a way of being that involved him in so many mistakes, he lost is father because he came late, but wasn't his fault, he wanted to explore like all the childrens, he lost De La Serre because he does not deliver the message, but wasn't his fault because he wanted to stay with Elise and cannot know what can come. He then matured and wanted always to protect Elise because he doesnt want to lose her, but he lost her, this tike because the destiny want it like that, he did all that he could do, but wasn't enough, it's very sad and tragic, because Arno was a pure person.

I think that in reality the Florence sequence has some of the best lines in the game, the dialogues with the victims are more intense than the one during the main plot, it reminds me more of Ac1, or I was impressed by a dialogue between two women, they were saying something like "I would like the Assassin to return" "They are all tales!!" "No. My father saw it once, at San Gimignano, long time ago" and it's just crazy that you realize that someone in the crowd see you while killing some target in the First Sequences of the game, put you in terms with the time passing by.

I love AC2, but Ezio's thirties were definitely rushed and almost none-existent. If Ubi ever remake AC2, they definitely need to make Reneissance Italy fully explorable without loading screens (like the RPG Games) and make more story chapters/sequences, including Ezio's Spain years.
