@@fanessmusic3841 I may be mistaken, but I believe the heritage edition apollos just include some extra plugins that don’t come with the standard version. I don’t think there are any actual hardware differences. I may be wrong on that, but if I remember correctly, that’s what I understood when purchasing this unit a few years ago.
Can you do an updated video of home studio recordings? What did you end up with and what do you suggest out of this video if you've upgraded to a professional like home studio?
Thanks for checking it out! Looks like I forgot to go through guitars on this one, and that’s my bad! All of the guitars were going through STL Will Putney suite’s stock settings with an EQ rolling off some low end and bx_refinement was taking care of the high “whistling” frequencies.
Big mistake with the speakers placement on the stands, they're behind the monitor. That is a bad move. They should be in front of the monitor. The monitor is obstructing the sound. Even though the speakers appear to be clear of the sides of the monitor, sound doesn't just project forwards. The sound is going to immediately bounce back off the back of the monitors. Putting your speakers on stands is otherwise a good move. I'm about to do the same. JDC
@@JustinTutor No worries. I'm glad you took the comment positively. But it does make sense. Like you I had my speakers for years on the desk, but I placed them on ISO Acoustics Stands. Hope you get it setup to your advantage and benefit. If it's not right it follows on down the chain. I actually have 4x 27" monitors 2x2 on my desk. I will be mounting them on the wall when I get my new desk which means a complete 180. JDC
and finally somebody figured out that a "reverse" head is just better a $300 guitar that is perfect just doesn't exist. most of us buy these cheaper models BECAUSE we like to tinker and upgrade.

Any experience with the ages from them for this kinda high gain stuff? I have an Ages, and got a helix right after… I left the walrus audio in the box more or less… Now you have me wanting to revisit it.
You should experiment with single sm57 and the wurst method. It’s pretty cool and very simple. I don’t have a full set of mics for my drums and am in a much smaller room and budget. The single mic sm57 method has taught me a lot of useful stuff about the effects of microphone placement and characteristics. Look it up on RU-vid some guys are great at the wurst method and other ways of single sm57 drum recording.

When Andy James switched to the Evertune bridge back in 2017, he lost so much of his signature tone. The pick attack almost gone from his mixes. Could have been the pickups too, but the evertune surely didn't help. good review!
I like the tortoise guard, and black looks good too, but I believe when you do that, it changes the tone, as the anodized stock pickguard is an ingredient in the tone recipe. Wether it changes it for better or worse I don't know though.

I never really played acoustics at all either but as soon as I got one i found reasons to play it at church. Got an Ibanez. I’m interested in the new Gretsch Jim Dandy acoustics with the Deltoluxe pickup. Super cheap but hear good things about them.
