On impact with a submerged object, isn't it going to tear out the entire drive? These drives protrude significantly below the hull. Hitting something would cause immense damage, sinking the boat immediately?
While this may be a standard practice in Australia where, I think, this video was taken, I wonder if the same would (or could) be done in the USA involving the US Coast Guard? Does anyone know if the Coast Guard would "accept" and track vessels going to sea via VHF (other than through the AIS system)? If so, on what VHF channel would such a request be made? Ch. 16? Channel 9?
Definitely a great boat for long range fishing and week long cruises. Sleeps 8 easily. Of course if I had the bucks to not only buy one, but operate and maintain one, I would.
My steering wheel was kinda hard to turn while driving then it just like broke freely and spins infinitely either way. Was stranded on the lake for a few hours. Anyone know what the problem is? 165hp inline 6 inboard motor
Nice setup but when you have your snubber that far in the water, it loads up on barnacles and sea growth. I have found if I have the chain hook slightly above the water, it stays cleaner. I got a nasty cut on my hand grabbing the snubber hook to release it by a hidden barnacle. I also let out some slack chain but don’t need to deal with tides that much here in the Caribbean.
I love the video I’m a 76-year-old and Boat alone so this is a real lifesaver for me. I can’t find anywhere on the Internet where I can buy the different lines and snap shackles you refer to are these available in Australia? Can you tell me where I could buy them? Thank you very much in advance for getting back to me. This is something I really need to continue boating
No one ever talks about the seals going bad at five years and costing tens of thousands to rebuild. BY the time it fails you're done. So read the maintenance manual and do the maintenance.
The water in the galley sink and the head sink work, but suddenly the toilet and the shower when you turn on/push the button the pump doesn't work and no water comes out. What could be wrong
Beautiful system and im sure it performs remarkably well. In a clean test course or tub. Put that design in the real world and the first debri strike or grounding and it is done and will cost tens of thousands to fix.
Bowline and sheet bends, double included, are terrible choices for cyclic loading. Better off using and alpine butterfly to create a bight and a zeppelin bend to replace the double sheet bend.
