Mr. Dick Cory, you’re such a legendary hero and a father figure to me Sir. It’s great to hear your voice after all these years! Very respectfully, Rusty Wright
Video could have done without the deer hunting part it was stupid and way to long. Would rather have seen more than the 2 second clip of The town of Willsboro
Loved video. Born , and raised in near by Washington county. During 60's visited some of the places on school field trips. As an adult returned to Fort TI. many times.
Went there back in the 90's before they closed for good. I had a wonderful time. I think someone finally bought the property though. Better than seeing it decay and waste away to nothing.
Wow does that take me back! I worked at TV 27 a long time ago. Probably around that time! :-) I wonder if anybody has a list of all the actors that worked Frontier Town back then? Some of those people look familiar to me.
I posted this on another youtube video about Frontier Town. Most people didn’t know it, but Frontier Town had a small airport on the property, the runway ran parallel with I-87 and was between the property and I-87 and the airplane parking area was at the north and west end and shared the parking area with the parking lot for the gift shop, restaurant and gas station, the only thing that separated the airport parking ramp from the parking lot was small concrete blocks like found in parking lots. The owner of Frontier Town owned an airplane and used to park in on the ramp there during the time when the park was open. If you look at Frontier Town, which was located in North Hudson NY on Google Earth the remains of the runway is still there, on the west side of the property At 14:27 of this video, I believe that was the owners airplane, also at 20:39 and 21:17 there are some other images of the runway and airplanes parked on the airport. I flew into Frontier Town a few times in my single engine airplane, the first time I flew there was to go to the park, since the main entrance was on the other side of the property I walked over to the gas station on the property and the attendant there called over and they sent a car to pick me up and took me to the main entrance and back again to my airplane. The other times I flew in I just went into the restaurant for lunch It was a short runway, only about 2500 feet and Frontier Town is located in a valley so when arriving from the south you had to fly north a ways to an area in the valley that was wide enough to make the tight turn south between the hills and because of the short runway you landed as short as possible which meant touching down just past the aircraft parking area. On a nice weekend day there was usually a few airplane parked there. Brings back so nice memories seeing the video
