I once slid down a black diamond on my back going headfirst at about 30mph, dad came and saved me, now he’s got a ruptured acl, a miniscus tear, and two blood clots, one in his knee, and one shot up into his lungs
Well, well done.. Yes super dry ,,,but check boot shell also,,, Often water inside lower portions. Then one drop of lubricant on buckle screw adjustment. Lay out Dr. School foot powder..
This look interesting. The original HF was too wide to be a performance boot (I tried one as a demo for a day). Will have to check this new 130 out. The older I get, fussing around with my boots is the last thing I want to do on a cold day.
I'm still running an old Unlimited AC40 Carbon, a ski with massive camber, super powerful flex, and integrated Marker system. 17.8m @ 177cm. 82mm waist. But it's rather heavy and requires a strong skier. Also not what I'd call a off-piste ski, at least not more than 15%. I bet that Peregrine is about the most close modern ski to what I'm using.
I’m quite attracted by these skis. I never saw the folding function as being for when you are actually in resort, it is more about travelling to and from resort so that it fits in a much smaller bag than a standard ski bag, hence the made for purpose travel bag options that it comes with. This can help save on travel cost and is easier to lug around (eg easier using public transport to get to airport). I’m seriously considering getting a pair
I have the new Quartz lens for the Interstellar. It's very good for low light and night resort riding. Not a lot of mirror, so tons of light hits your eyes for maximum contrast and visibility.
Less deformation of the shell and an easier punch if need be. When I was an early boot fitter I did a lit of punching, now I've come to recommend grinding first. You might be surprised how much a grind can make. My .02cents
I got into a skiing accident, and I risked it to spite my boss. See, she was once upset I had signed up for a one-person shift, because she didn't think I could manage alone. She scolded a lower-ranking manager for not noticing I had signed up a coffee service. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I felt belittled by her. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. Sure, I'm a slow learner and have messed up at work before, but you got a lot of guts labeling and shaming a guy with learning difficulties like that. That's why I thought, _IF_ I get injured skiing, due to my limited motor skills, maybe she'll get to see it in agony. I always wanted to ski but never did due to fear. But when I learned she was working a service at the lodge, I decided I'll risk my safety and make her suffer for how she treated me. Either I'll ski, have fun, and be fine, or I'll ski and provide us both with pain. But I'm starting to feel bad I did that to her, even a little more than what I did to myself (I'm in a few casts). Like I said, I wanted to ski anyway, but the official decision to do so was dependent on making her suffer what could happen to me, and I still do think she deserves it. However, my conscience is making me question when push comes to shove morally. What do you guys think? Did I go too far, taking a fun risk partly for the joy, partly for her pain?
Thank God for this video series. I stopped skiing 8 years ago because my boots killed my high arch feet... I recently moved to Andorra and thanks to your video I searched for a ski boot workshop... I'm visiting one tomorrow (also my birthday) so I will be able to do again what I loved the mos ❤ You can't imagine how thankful I am... THANKS!! 🙏🏻
