Nice review on your camper. I thought about getting the project M for long term boondocking. Surviving off the grid all alone with just the supplies I brought with me is on my bucket list. As for traction with your Ford vs Toyota, did you use the same tires on both? When I lived in Florida I drove an F150 with BF Goodrich KO2 tires through mud and muck in the everglades to get to my favorite fishing holes. The only things out there were gators, snakes big enough to eat gators, hungry fish, and me. I wouldn't try to get out there with all season tires. Now I live in South Dakota, and understand tires vs snow. Snow tires are great on ice, but suck in deep snow. All season tires suck in the winter period. I believe your lack of traction was due to your tires, and not your Fords lack of ability. Enjoy your journey.

Antelope are hard to hunt even with optics and a rifle accurate to 500 yards. Huge props to this guy, they have some of the best hearing, smell, and eyesight of any herbivore. I have hunted for them once in Wyoming/Dakotas

The old WS big puffy used to have dwr and wind stopper sort of shell in it, do you feel like this cuts the wind and rain as well as the discontinued model? Fingers crossed because the old version is my all time favorite coat so hopefully it's close!
@StevenDrakePhoto
@StevenDrakePhoto 6 дней назад
This one doesn’t cut wind or rain as well BUT it’s more puffy and less weight! Ultimate puffy would be hyperdown with WS and DWR treatment

there's no way i'm leaving chance to just one unit. i will still pack a chain or tow strap. you should always have more flashlights than needed. better have a backup for the backup. also, i dont recommend buying the cheap china stuff for emergencies.

Typical "comfort-based" first aid kit with no trauma components. If you had a catastrophic injury (say you punctured an artery with one of your broadheads or a knife) this kit would be pretty much useless and you would bleed out in 2 minutes. A kit without a tourniquet (get a real CAT TQ...not the Chinese fakes on Amazon), packing gauze (even better, haemostatic gauze) and maybe an Israeli bandage may give you piece of mind, but won't help in a serious trauma scenario. Add some chest seals (we are running around with guns, so gunshot wounds are possible) and some chewable aspirin (for heart attacks), and you would have a fairly comprehensive kit that might do some good in the event of a true emergency. Having some bandaids and such is nice to have, especially in a truck that is your home for months at a time, but woefully inadequate for serious trouble.
@JordanBussPhoto
@JordanBussPhoto 15 дней назад
Thanks for the insight! If you watch any of Steven's other videos, he goes over in detail the tourniquet he brings, QuikClot, along with some chewable aspirin, etc in his emergency kit: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xYIyWbQ7mj0.htmlsi=frDVUJ_qwVUG26Dd&t=112 The chest seals would be a good idea though!

Keep it to the rationing and packing advice. People don’t function at their best in high energy environments eating their body weight in carbs.
@StevenDrakePhoto
@StevenDrakePhoto 20 дней назад
Lots of info out there about carbs. Some say you should eat double for high energy environments. Then the keto folks say max of 50g per day. I try to meet in the middle and feel pretty good at 150g/day… protein I am trying to get 140g per day as 140 is my body weight. Andrew Huberman Podcast is a an incredible source of info for all things health and nutrition!
