i dont understand a word of it but the energy and feeling she puts into it is out of this world she never misses a beat she is beautiful and as such a fantastic range and quality to her voice really enjoyed it
Credit where credit is due. Firstly, any soprano taking this aria on, deserves a medal for even learning it. Secondly, Anna did a wonderful job of this. There are so many traps in this aria and Anna did NOT fall into ANY of them. Brava darling!!!! BRAVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow!!!!Wow!!! The most beautiful woman singing one of Mozart's most difficult arias as if she is just breathing. Beautiful, fantastic. Oh dearest Anna you are absolutely fantastic. What a voice. Love you forever. ❤❤❤❤
Poor Mozart ! To kill his music in such a way ! By today's standards, you don't have to be a good opera singer - you just have to be beautiful, show your intimate parts in public, have some scandals and here comes the glory. A very doubtful one, for sure. Listen to Sutherland, singing this aria in Australia 1997. A lesson in singing, a lesson in bel canto. Oh, I forgot to mention two very important facts: she is not young and she is not beautiful ! BUT she IS SUTHERLAND !!!!!!!
N SE DE QUE VA ESTO.............ES CIERTO QUE ESTA VOZ .ES BUENISIMA........................PERO EN OPERA....BELCANTISTA..................A PESAR DE SU VOZ PODEROSA.OTRAS LA TENDRIAN MAS PODEROSA..........................
I agree. There are some who might say "'ending on a high note' wasn't the style in Mozart's time but came along later." That may be true, but ending on the high C would have been wonderful. There's a recording of Joan Sutherland singing this area and ends on the C -- it is fabulous!
i think russian or not this genius sings this with sublime tenderness as intended.lets not get foolishly fixated on the nuances of czech pronunciationin the presence of such a talent as this.to do so is to loose . . .not win!
Her beautiful singing voice is unfathomable , immeasurable and beyond description, and is full of admiration, my deep emotion ,and is comfortable to the ear and the mind Her inspirational magnificent singing voice leads me into the wonderful world of comfort From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun🇯🇵 素晴らしいね!
I am in the fortunate position that I can only speak one language and am therefore not distracted from the WONDERFUL SINGING of Rita Streich by such petty criticism as to her pronunciation, diction whether it be good, bad or otherwise. Besides I believe she is Russian born and not Czech so she should be forgiven for any slip ups in a language not her own. On the other hand I agree with William Shackleford that, for me at least, Frederika von Stade probably tops all other versions of this wonderful piece.
@3F93 Wrong verbs. With all the faces and grimmaces, she does look very much like Elettra; unfortunatelly the drama does not come through the voice. She does not SOUND like Elettra, or at least not like Mozart's Elettra.
