Yeah sorry about that lol I was almost done editing the video for that when my HD that had all my recordings on it died so I lost all the footage of me making it and of the stop motion intro that takes an annoying amount of time to make. SO I can just stopped making videos because that for a while, well that and because ASA doesn't run well on my comp. But I'll probably make a different, better castle build in the future
Nice update! I’ve been playing with it in aberration. Wonky steampunk towers look cool. You mentioned ASR, they have curved ceilings now which I think gives you a bunch of angles to play with while Stijl staying on the horizontal plane! Having loads of fun with the ASR stuff.
Do you play in singleplayer or on a server? When on a server, is it official, or unofficial and if unofficial can you tell me the provider? Because I can get this to be working on Aberration only in singleplayer
Well, unfortunetaly on Aberration I don't get it to work for a 90° angled foundation even when I am facing north or south on an uneven terrain (where uneven means a little bit off like a beach). I am trying to build on the big ledge in the blue zone (coordinates: 36, 65). The problem is, that I do not get a 90° snappoint for the spikes. When I build on a flat surface like one of these metal structures (concrete the big one at the fertile lake), then it works. Is there any other alternative that works "better" or more reliable? Does anybody has a tipp?
What system are you playing on? I've only test it on PC so idk about consoles. Do you have structure collision turned on? I've noticed that if you have it turned off in the settings this doesn't work as well. And do you have snapping disabled when placing the spikes? Because it's not actually a snap point, its just you place it freely and it will go 90 on the ramp, but I use the ladder to make it straight.
@@Kviden Hey, thanks for the response. I play on PC master race on an unofficial Server. I also have already read about the collision preventing this technique. So I turned the setting OFF which means that the collision is ON. But with that I can't even place the necessary things to get the 45° angle because the structure placement turns red. The weird thing is, that in my singleplayer test I haven't had to turn off the snapping (holding Q while placing). I will try this on the server as soon as the setting for the collision is ON again (meaning collision is OFF). That's my last hope.
@@Kviden I have now tested it with the disabled collision settings ON which means collision is OFF. But even with snapping disabled I cant get the Spikes to be placed on the vertical roof. Why is ARK so shitty?
I no longer play ark, but when building using ladders I used to go to k-mode, jump off the ladder and move around using the keyboard only to move around or look up and down (using arrow keys). It would be nice if someone can check that method
Doesn't work either. I felt so stupid now because I was looking south anyway. I then went into single player and it worked there... sadly this meants it doesn't work on the unofficial server where I'm playing on
Weird, I've tested it on the unofficial server I'm playing on and official servers and it worked on both of those o.0 are you trying to build with modded pieces or something? Or do you have structure collision turned off? I've noticed that does seem to make it more difficult to do
@@Kviden Im not sure about that because its not my server. It has mods but im building with vanilla structures. I'm confused because whether it's on or off, both work in single player as you say. I tested it there to get a feel for it. Normaly I can place struktures half in a wall but but in the case of this spikes they always get placed on the top on the ramp or normally on the floor. The weirdest thing is on the server it doesn't matter with direction you look. The spikes get always places upright and swap (by the 90 degree angle) to the ground then XD
I wish that's how I did it lol that'd be way easier. I pretty much do stop motion animation for it, like I demo a piece, take a picture, demo a piece, take a picture, then just put it all together in reverse

@@Kviden When the world needed him most…. He Returned!!! Welcome Back Brother definitely glad our favorite ark builder is back in action!!! I can confidently say that your narration during the vids is PERFECT 🤩 don’t change a thing my guy!!
@@JohnSmith-qm5xu yeah I did, I’m trying it in north ice so maybe I’m running into meshed land or something similar. I didn’t try it in other places yet out of frustration.
Pretty cool, but how the Hell did you get the 45 degree tilted Foundations in a 90 degree Angle to each other for the Pyramide ?? I always get about 92 or 88 degree...
Yeah, I do one for each type of food. Like one for raw meat, one for cooked, one for prime, one for narco berries, etc. But I guess imma horder in ark XD
Just tried your foundation lowering tip on official Xbox and it's not exactly 2.5 foundations apart, it's like an inch too short which creates issues as far as snapping goes for later on. Any ideas?
I would like to see that castle build. It seems for the sideways build tricks, you have to start with that. I want to use that large hatch trick in an existing base. What is your advice?
It still works, but you can only put things on top of specific structures and preserving bins are one that you can put things on top of. So try using a table or fridge, put the bin on top of that, then pick up the table/fridge and then place another bin there. Hope that makes sense lol
