Happy timezone :) Another awesome video, Lexie! I really liked the tone and feel of this video, from the car journey to the castle. I appreciate that you decided not to bombard the viewer too much. Just music and the visuals of the great Ludlow Castle. Until...you saw the throne! Hahaha! Great change of tone. It added a light-hearted feel to a very relaxing video. As I told Luke, "an abrupt change in tone for the race to the throne!" Luke told me you said the same thing! And that mighty dragon was too much of a coincidence. It knew you'd be there! There is so much history in Ludlow (besides the castle). I would love to visit one day for sure. One of the most magnificent castles in England, I'd say. Pretty well-in-tacked for an old ruin XD I saw Edinburgh Castle myself last year and that is a sight to see. A few other castles I've seen in person, but they are in a much worse shape than Ludlow's.
@@lexiedovahkiinYou're very welcome! I've been to Chester a few times. Another historic city with ties to the Romans. Cobbled pavements and Chester Zoo! One of the best zoos in England :) You'll have fun over there I'm sure.
Who ate all the pies? Who ate all the pies? Sorry, I couldn't resist! This video felt like a trip to me lol. I was told two certain individuals were "somewhat drunk." Keep them away from the Dovahkiin Mead! It is much too strong for them hahaha! Also...Dovahkiin Mead...interesting. A lot of work went into making those pumpkin pies. The only pumpkin thing I've had is pumpkin soup from Austria. But seriously...who ate all the pies? :p
Hey Lexie! We meet again! Happy timezone :) Thanks for sharing this via Hermes himself (otherwise known as Luke). I absolutely love fire videos. That small firepit is cool (or hot lol). This is an example of an awesome fire video! Very relaxing, informative, and natural. I loved it! And what an amazing backpack! (although I'd rename it the firepack!). The Nightmare Before Christmas is an epic animated film. Good choice :) I liked that you included text, which was informative and charismatic. Was this an insight into your personality? Was there a reason you chose to use text instead of a voice-over? A good variety of angles too! Some gave me the sense that I was there with you, crouching down as you were preparing the fire. Was this your intention? What was your idea for this video? A simple, but effective fire-tool kit. You really packed it to the brim there. Those were some really choice quality pieces of bacon too! All in all, an epic video and I would love to see more of this. No criticism from me hahaha! Do you have any other work, Lexie (besides on The Age of Cheese and your channel here)? I would love to see more...'til the next trade.
Thanks Jake :) This was my first upload and I'm very shy... okay, that shy bit isn't entirely true. I quite like intertitles, they bring me back to studying early cinema. With the video and the angles tbh I was kind of copying a well know YTer, his name means Bear.. And yeh, I've not made many films myself, rather worked on other productions - and not for over 10 years, until I recently rekindled my love for film-making.
@@lexiedovahkiin You're welcome :) That's understandable. Definitely! Intertitles dating back to the Silent Cinema days. They're classics. Before the rise of the "Talkies!" Oh, interesting! Either way...plenty of RU-vidrs and other creatives have used these angles too. Filmmaking techniques get copied all the time. I think they're a good choice for the type of video that you made. I'm practically in the same boat as you. I've only made a couple myself and others I have collaborated on. That's really great to hear that you rekindled your love for filmmaking again. Mine will probably be on the back burner now, but I said I'd help Luke with his next ambitious project lol. As I mentioned in my response to you on my channel...I wrote a feature-length script. It was for my major that I completed in May. So yeah...I aim to continue writing too...at some point. But if you want to read my first script, I'll send it to you. Feedback is always welcome :)
@@lexiedovahkiin Great :) I've now emailed it to you and Luke. Don't know if it'll end up in your junk, so check there if it didn't arrive in your main inbox 😉
Happy Timezone! The last of my journeys with Luke and his Mum, here in England (for now!).. Alas, I will fondly miss their company, in my car, at my home, seeing everything beautiful and ancient - and sharing those experiences together.. our paths have crossed once, and they will cross again. I never say farewell, I say I will see you soon, and of course - TTYL This be not the end of my travels around Beautiful England. I have more hidden places to visit, some still waiting to be edited, some planned, and others are to be discovered (literally). I will keep uploading each of my adventures - and if you are on a journey somewhere interesting, post a video - I would love to see your adventures too!
Lexie, you are so creative and ingenious. Your videos have such depth and feeling. Love the sounds along with all of the sites. Makes me wish to see such a place. I caught a glimpse of that rascal, Seamus. You better keep a close watch out for him. I think he left a bit of himself behind there in Old England. 😀 I guess, now is the time to start planning for the next adventure's travels and investigations. Happy Time Zone!!!.....and thanks so much for sharing. 🏰 It was really a great video! ❤👍
Best video yet! They say a remnant of Seamus though he was sent back still remains in that castle, A bitter sweet end to the first season, I look forward to the next, and in response to the description, indeed, shared sentiment, but I’ll see you again soon, and ttyl 👋🏻 🐉🍻
@@lexiedovahkiin yes, I’m glad you did, and we will do an update to it too, then we will graffiti it😄 and be there longer but either way, we left our mark, they still see Seamus, and ludlowrax speaks of you often im sure, awaiting our return 🐉 🌷🧀
So much stone! It seems trail should be cobble stone too. It looks as though it might have been in years gone by. They sure could built those structures with more character back then. Now we just get brutalism ...big square boxes. I hope the jean jacket phantom will get to visit again soon. Thanks, Lexie. Hope you and your pups are well. Summer is zooming by this year.
I think it was cobble stoned at one point. It being the back of the castle it was less walked on. So much character though built with utility in mind. But upgraded later on when things were less needing of defense. You should see the inside! Which you will when that episode gets finished/released. The phantom of the Jean jacket does want to go back soon. It’s his only short term want, being a ghost he’s got simple goals. 😄
As I look at the post card from there on our wall, it’s incredibly nice to see that trail again. Really enjoyed that. Ohhh did you catch that phantom in the Jean jacket that zoomed past the camera 👻😁
Hi Lexie, The fungus looks like a Chaga Mushroom. Makes a good coffee like drink. Can be very, very old and very hard. Thank you so much for sharing these hidden parts of Beautiful England! I enjoy all of your videos! Hope you are doing well and that you garden is flourishing. May your time zone be happy and any prosperous. Hugs, Lexie.
Whoa Chagas can be red? I assumed they were all black. If that’s the case I can see why it’d be hard to find ones you’d actually want to use because that one looks ancient, and I’d never want to disturb it 🍄
Hi there, hugs back - and thank you for the knowledge, and your kind words. Yes, everything is slotting into place in my life this year, and I am looking forward to my future a lot more. We have lovely bright strawberries growing, and the other fruit are each coming back. I won't be taking on the mighty Pumpkin or other veggies this year, we want to go camping during the summer weeks!
This was so great to see again, that place is one of the areas I remember the most fondly, it was so tranquil and serene, I could have meditated there for a long time, plus the day was really nice in temperature, the path going there was magic as well. also yes still wondering what that fungus was, it was almost as hard as a rock. plus that was some nuns jacuzzi!😆
This is how easy it is to create a quick and simple breathing pod to help you while exploring areas away from your main base. From this location I went wandering and found a "very interesting" cave (not included in this video). I also traverse what I believe to be the highest point on the map, and located a "special box".. and what is in the box? Well, keep watching to find out. This series will eventually feature on our channel, The Age of Cheese - @theageofcheeseishere
We can potentially have more assistants.. I read it can be up to 10 but. If we want a few more people to help to run different departments that be great 💯👍🏼 We must show them a planet they want to help on!
Welcome to Planet Crafter with Lexie Dovahkiin. Join me on a tour around this prison planet. Visit the temporary base I created and stocked in readiness for my companion prisoner, from the channel @lukeandmum Since playing for the first time, and watching videos by the "pro-players" of this game, I now have a better feel for the keyboard controls, and of course a better understanding of how the Planet Crafter gives - and takes from the players. It is demanding, but if you enjoy creating your own base, designing the layout to be both economical and functional, then this is the game for you too. Happy Timezone! Please leave comments - I genuinely love to hear from you, and I always reply.
Co ordinates received, trajectory set, this is captain Luke to ground control, iv left forever more, and I’m sure my capsule knows which way to go…so here am I floating in a tin can, far above the world. The planet below is brown and there’s lots of work to do now. See you soon 🚀
Thank you for coming along for the ride. The caves, it turns out, have been closed to the public (for vandalism reasons), but it was fun searching for the entrance.
Very good video, Ahh iv been missing that country side, good to see. Got to say that bridge was pretty impressive, and the nearby chip shop has good chips 👍🏻 The adventures of trying to find the caverns was also enjoyable 🙂
I am a descendant of the Corbet's and every time I see videos of the castle, I wonder what it was like when it was in its prime and my ancestors were living there.
Thank you for all of the up close shots of the old and weathered blocks and rocks. Very interesting to get so up close. It must have been quite the structure in it's day but almost more interesting when washed and buffeted by the sands of time. I do notice no weeds in the courtyard too....just the beautiful green grass of England. Thank you, Lexie! Artistically filmed. I loved the dog barking/ howling in the end. It felt like echos of the past. 💖👍💐
🌹 thank you for your kind compliments! Yes this spot was patched up over the years like a patchwork quilt. Luke told me to keep the dog barking in for much the same reason. It's from audio I took in my back garden one day. Since then I have a longer track that I took at 5am when no dogs were awake yet 😆 only the birdies 🤣🤣
@@CurtisMiller-two68haha, oh dear is she that hidden? You can just see her walking down a flight of steps in the corner of frame, towards the end, still within the ruins, just as I pan to the right before showing the outer wide shot.
Quite intriguing that this place was "let go" around the same time that the New World colonies were forming... And interesting captures of an American tourist, as well..
How did I miss this little gem,...because,.... I seem to see the earth through a much different lens than most. Loved it Lexie, ....sending smiles your way. 😀😄😁🤗🤗👍👍
Cool! That time when I stayed in Aylesbury, I stayed at a concrete block of a hotel. But breakfast was eaten in a pub connected to the hotel - really old style place. Low ceiling, seriously heavy oak chairs etc. I regret not shooting some pictures inside it - really cozy place!
Sounds like a lot of quaint old English pubs - low beams, heavy chairs and tables, real ale on the pumps, and a real log fireplace. You must return to England some day!
It was, and for each destination creates a new beginning, so that offering while the end of my time there, it was also the beginning of my next journey which will culminate with the return to those woods. 🌲 🌳
