This is awesome. Thank you so much for making this video . Mine seems to be a slightly different model with the screws located at different places but the concept was the same. I fixed mine in 10-15 minutes, with most of the time spent in cleaning up. Saved time and money! Thank you 🙏
Have the microwave range combo but the premise was the same and worked like a charm! Thanks Paul L....saved us all some head and heartaches. Not to mention an S ton of $$$.
Yes I had the same issue! I have cleaned the ribbon with rubbing alcohol three times now and it's still happening (but between longer time frames). Does anyone have additional suggestions?! I'm all ears :)
I ordered from GE a replacement pad and it took 2 weeks to arrive and we went and purchased another microwave after waiting a week- then returned the part! The part cost $210 after shipping- a brand NEW microwave cost $199 plus tax! Ridiculous that the pad cost the SAME as a new unit!!!
Got same message...Just did this fix on GE microwave jvm1540sp1ss, 14 yrs old. Works, so far, thank you. Be prepared for greasy gunk in crevices. I found rubbing alcohol on qtip and paper towel helped clean things up (be gentle)
My microwave is a GE Model JES1451DN1BB. It needed to have the entire cover removed by removing (5) screws around the back edge on the cover and pulling it to the back a bit to remove. Once the cover was off, the circuit board was visible, it didn't need to be removed, and I followed your instructions to remove and re-seat the connectors and it now works again! Thank you for your help!
THANK YOU GOOD SIR!! Didn’t work the first two times. Then I read some comments, used the suggestion to clean the contacts with rubbing alcohol and q-tip, and SUCCESS!
THANK YOU!! While my husband was at the pool...I fixed the microwave!! So far so good! Saved me money and listening to him complain about replacing it! 😊😊
Thanks so much, took me a couple minutes to fix it, and I am the least handiest person in the world! Wonder what it would cost to have a repairman come?
I didn’t take mine apart yet but it seems to me mine starts acting up if you cook something on the stove, especially something steamy and not run the vent fan at the same time. I’ll usually unplug for several days and it comes back to life but not this last time it didn’t. I can get it to work for one thing (heating, turn on vent fan, etc) and then it goes bonkers after a minute. Anyone else have this problem?
You are an absolute lifesaver!! I was ready to launch this microwave out of the window! I followed your video and within 5 minutes, I had it up and running again!! Much appreciated!!
Have this same model, same error/issue, followed your steps, and got it working again! THANK YOU! I also broke some tabs in the process :D I think it'll be time for a new microwave soon though - the one we have is disgusting (oil and grease all over it - I guess the previous owner never cleaned it)
Thank you Paul. The fix worked like a charm on the black version of the same model microwave. Circuit board was slightly different but same issue and fix. Great job on the instructions. 👍
