I am working on a garden railroad for my yard....it includes approximately 250lf of track and some girder bridges, double tunnel entrance and a mountain gorge heavy timber trestle....I am very interested in onboard rc battery operated trains with the option to utilize normal track power if needed....the only question that I have is will I need to direct wire such things as signal device's, switch track operations and other electrical track devices when I am running in rc battery pack mode?....can you give me any advice......thank you, John from St. Petersburg, Fl..
Wow is that really scratch-built? Would have thought it was modified from an Aristo. I like custom stuff and Doodlebugs. By the way my dad and I did an article in the June 2010 Garden Railways on kit-bashing an Aristo Doodlebug into a Reading one with both baggage and mail sections. Similar to PRR #4666, it’s a heavyweight Brill with a rounded roof.
Guys, This video was made when we began building the railroad in 2010. There is more information on how we built it and what we are d king now at: Www.brokenbushandroundtop.com Jules
Too bad there were no replies to help on how the roadbed was constructed. If it was trex I still have no idea of the dimensions it was cut to to get the bends and lace between. Heck even the overall width. Hard to find details to help. Even a transit to get all the post all the same height. I have seen some set on telescoping PVC pipe which seems it all can be adjusted as you build. Like nobody wants to help learn but just show off their layout. Sorry.
I also have revolution control in all the 10 engines that I have and also have my set above ground. Makes life so much easier than having to clean track and leaves blow right of track. Have so much track out there.
