@@msvdronetube My folks told me that was the one place they could afford to take all 6 of my brothers because the prices for burgers was very low, ¢.15 each, something like that. Hungry growing boys eat a lot of burgers! 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔
@@Lomara-hq2yv yeah, that’s an absolute bargain and I don’t blame them taking you all there. We didn’t get a McDonald’s here until 1989 but it was so magical when we did because we’d only ever seen them in the movies.
Random video popped up in my feed, and couldn’t be happier. Many of the places you feature are on my daily walking or driving routines and I learned a lot. A friend from London is coming over next summer and I’m making her a Columbo sight seeing tour. Seemed you had a great time! (Driving note, that left hand turn out of the gas $tation was a bit dodgy…) 😂
Thanks buddy. I really appreciate your comment. I love that Americans have watched a video from our rinky dink channel. If you’re doing a Columbo Tour, you have to include Peter Falks grave. It’s at Westwood Memorial Park and well worth a visit for any fan. That’s a fair point about the left turn, we were still getting used to the roads and had already committed. 🤣 Thanks for watching. M&L
@@msvdronetube love seeing people enjoy the city! The grave site is on the list. Next time you are in town, you might consider doing a movie night at Hollywood Forever cemetery! We’re going to watch Midsommer in two weeks. Cheers
Well, it’s one of our favourite cities in the world for so many reasons and movie & TV show filming locations is one of them. Just Googled it and that’s exactly our sort of thing. Thanks for the recommendation. We’re already planning our next trip.
Thank you for your feedback. I completely agree with you. I’ll pass your observations onto the camera crew and editing staff. I’m seriously considering replacing them anyway.
Hi, thanks for watching. We were there in April of this year. We got going very early in the morning and Horseshoe Bend was relatively quiet. The Canyon was slightly busier but still no crowds.
My uncle and his family lived in Downey and one of my cousins worked at that McDonald's many, many years ago. If you had come to Whittier, where I live, which is about 15 miles southeast of LA and not too far from Downey, you could have seen the high school that was the location used for filming in Back To The Future, the houses on the street where the trick or treat scene was filmed for Hocus Pocus and the Uptown area where scenes were filmed for Masters of the Universe and Father of the Bride. A lot of other film locations have been used in Whittier, but those are the ones I know for sure.
Thank you so much for watching. It’s amazing to me that you found our video. We actually have visited Whittier back in 2015 when we got married and went to Whittier High School and Stricklands house which is behind the school. I honestly didn’t know that they filmed Masters of the Universe there. I’m a little sad that we didn’t know that when we visited as me and my brothers watched that film loads as kids. That McDonald’s was fantastic. It’s odd to admit but I’d go back there in a heartbeat. Thanks again for watching. M&L
Thank you. Glad you liked it. I’d forgotten I did that until I edited the video. He totally fell for it. We have had to split the entire days adventures into 2 videos so should be dropping a new one very soon. Actually, Mark isn’t my Brother. He is however a very good friend and him and his daughters are as good as family. Thanks for continuing to watch. M&L
What a wierd place but it is in vegas.is the belz outlet not there any more it was same as one in Florida’s.that room that kept showing your image was fkin spooky .
It is so weird there. We loved it. Everywhere you look there’s an odd Easter Egg referencing something completely nuts. The photo room was amazing but really trippy. I don’t think we’d have to go back to be honest. Sort of a one and done type place but we’re glad we went. Thanks for continuing to watch. M&L
Yeah of course. Go ahead. So long as you include a link to my channel and it’s not used for anything rude or illegal. I’d also love to see what you’ve used it for if possible. Best of luck.
@@msvdronetube@msvdronetube, thank you, and of course, we'll include a credit in the description. It would be incredibly helpful to have the original file if that's possible? Could I send you an email to share it to?
In the 70s early 70s I lived in Aurora Illinois and we had tops big boy I work there at 15 years old bussng tables. 🤦remember the brawny ladd sandwich? Great video.
Wow, Aurora Illinois. It’s a dream of mine to visit there. Namely because of Wayne’s World and the Cars on a Stick etc. Swiss Miss Burger too. We love it at Big Boy. Excellent atmosphere. Thank you so much for watching. I’m amazed that our video has been seen by so many people. M&L
I worked on the original BACK TO THE FUTURE and so many other films and TV shows highlighted in your videos... I too am British but have lived in the HOLLYWOOD area for some 48 years. Yes, I know all the locations being a HOLLYWOOD historian, even gave tours of such and the movie ranches within the 30-mile Studio Zone. We shot the scarecrow and barn scene of BACK TO THE FUTURE at the Disney ranch... People wonder why I don't start a RU-vid channel, but I admire the younger people who do it... I'm fortunate and blessed that I lived it!
Wow, that’s amazing. How interesting. I’d love to just sit you down and listen to you for hours. I think you would be incredibly popular just doing a podcast talking about all of your experiences in the industry. Don’t underestimate the power of movie and tv and the millions of people who hold said shows very dear to their heart. They’d love to hear your tales. Thank you so much for watching. I feel genuinely honoured that someone in the industry has watched a video on our rinky-dink RU-vid channel. M&L
@@msvdronetube When I gave location tours in the 1980's, I was the first to show my guests edited clips of the classic movie locations I was showing them, using a portable VHS player. I won a few industry awards for these tours which were very specialized, not the usual and literal "taking folks for a ride." Yes, I worked on so many Universal movies like the original BLUES BROTHERS, SCARFACE, PSYCHO II, XANADU and numerous TV shows... At Warners I was on the original LETHAL WEAPON, worked for producers Michael Landon, Aaron Spelling etc... I even produced documentaries on the studios and locations. Yes, I knew the value and importance of movies and TV pop culture, and their value in social engineering us into the Twilight Zone we are in now. As well as knowing the locations, I knew the people that made them iconic. I knew people like the legendary Rod Serling, and boy was he right about what was to come! And the statue of Liberty scene in PLANET OF THE APES, that was Westwood Beach, just south of the popular Zuma Beach, and I knew matte artist Emil Kosa who painted that statue!
I’m so interested in Movies and TV shows. I find driving around LA to be one of my favourite things in the world as everything looks familiar to me. Blues Brothers is my all time favourite movie. I’m yet to visit Chicago to do a road trip of those filming locations. I’m gutted that they’ve demolished Rays Music Exchange in recent years. Rod Serling was a master of his craft. I watch at least one episode of Twilight Zone a week and enjoy picking out which ones we’re filming on the Universal Backlot, which it turns out was most of them actually. It’s such a shame that they’ve recently destroyed part of the Warner lot too. Lethal Weapon, Christmas Vacation, American Beauty to name a few are all iconic movies and I’m sad I’ll never get to see them again. Do you have any online links to those documentaries or have they been lost to time? I’d be fascinated to watch them and I’m incredibly grateful you’d be commenting on one of our videos. Thank you
@@msvdronetube Unfortunately I don't have any links to show my work, being an old man now I have trouble just trying to stay alive... As for the TWILIGHT ZONE, only the first season was shot at Universal, and the same for RAWHIDE... they both found a home at MGM for the rest of their runs. Speaking of Universal and the BLUES BROTHERS, I did the LA and studio locations -stage 1 the CW "Rawhide" bar, stage 6 the Aretha Franklin diner, stage 27 the James Brown church, the Hollywood Palladium was the Illinois auditorium, the Blues mobile took off in Chicago and landed on Universal's New York street... the same street that was tarped up for all the night scenes shot in daylight for STREETS OF FIRE etc., etc. Even in old age I have good recall of all that, but I often forget what I did 2 minutes ago!
Thanks gor commenting on my Shaun of the Dead video. You might not have gone to the Winchester, but you did find the alleyway which is something I missed. Good stuff and keep on rocking!
I really loved your video. I didn't know where most of those iconic places you went to actually were. Just a heads up. The Ash Scene in Big Lebowski was filmed at a place named "Sunken City" down the coast in San Pedro. They did film the Jackie Treehorn beach party scene right where you were at Point Dume. Great video! Well done! I'm glad you had a great time here in Los Angeles!
@@msvdronetube For the first few years I thought that it was Point Dume as well! Not till I was down in Sunken City I realized it was the place! My parents are Irish immigrants who share your love of the USA and I grew in in Los Angeles. Love your videos and am subscribed! Will be watching! Thanks!

Sadly the vacation has been over for a month now. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss America. What’s worse is I have loads of footage to go through in order to make these videos. Great times though. Can’t wait to come back.
I’m same love America, I’ve drove most of it .Been 14 times since 1998,we even got married in Florida in 2004.Hoping to go back next year.Traveling across country for few months hopefully .you ever need any help or advice let me no
Hi guys, I’m in Liverpool,uk.I go all over states. If you go back to Malibu in future,on pacific highway look for paradise cove,it’s private road to a beach restaurant,as long as you have a drink in bar you can park free, the beach is where all stars live, the car park is where James garner lives in Rockford files.when you was on beach that’s spot where Mel Gibson has caravan trailer in Leathal weapon, you ever after any movie stuff near to where you are let me no.good video the nakotami plaza from die hard was also the offices of solicitor for oj Simpson ,khardashian and the pool next to it is where Joe Pesci was thrown out hotel window .you should have a walk around grey stone manor in Beverly Hills, it’s free and tons of movies/tv done there ,xmen academy,Wayne manor, national treasure, etc. enjoy
That’s amazing. Thanks for the heads up. Can’t wait to go back. We love doing filming locations. We’ve done Port Hueneme for the Back to the Future train crash which was excellent. Plus all the houses in Pasadena as well as Poltergeist and ET etc. basically anything from the 80’s. And yes, I actually recognised Fox Plaza when I last watched Lethal Weapon. My brother and I got kicked out of Fox Plaza back in 2011. The security there is really tight. As I said in the video, you are pretty much always in a filming location for something in LA. We love it there. Thanks for watching. M&L
I’m hoping to go again in next year or two, was going to get an rv and travel across route 66 but doing movies , fancy finding tombstone, young guns and some Clint locations .the place where he made pale rider and Un forgiven was same train station and desert as back to future 3.ill have to see what you and your brother are up to when I’m going , I’ve been dragging my older brother along,we went st Abbs ( new Asgard ) last year ,lol.
@@huntinghistory You need to get to Monument Valley and stay in The View Hotel. It’s amazing, check out our 2017 video from there. Basically every western and BTTFIII was filmed there. That’s so weird, we did St Abbs last Summer. Plus we did the Shaun of the Dead locations which was awesome ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xvJOgNhEZ2M.html There’s surprisingly lots of UK movie filming locations to visit here but you can’t beat USA.
I’ve been watching your stuff, you seem to have same take on places monument valley is amazing.Ive been going states since 96.I once drove San Francisco to San Diego, I did 17 mile drive next to pebble beach (have good car show), went to Alcatraz,I stopped of in Carmel and had dinner in the hogs breath(Clint Eastwood bar). Then did Santa Clara (lost boys) , did few days in LA,then down coast,to San Diego ,foun the house from top gun but I believe they moved it now. Last time I did vegas I was at mirage, you been over to Rachel,I’d like to do that but like Paul the alien location haha.keep doing vids .If ever up in Liverpool I can show you loads movie places, the new Batman was done here and Scotland, when he dives off clock tower that’s the liver building, captain America(chasing bloke getting in sub-Liverpool docks)Sherlock homes etc.
Well, we really appreciate you watching. We’re only a very small channel but some videos (mainly filming locations) do better than others. Oh yeah, we’re definitely into the same stuff. I’ve not done San Diego yet. San Francisco was great though, especially the Dirty Harry, Mrs Doubtfire, Vertigo and Towering Inferno locations. Yes, Area51 was amazing. Rachel and Little AleInn was very cool. They actually have a signed Paul poster by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost etc. Going to the gate was risky but we enjoyed it. We love Liverpool. I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t know you had so many films made there. We just visited for the Beatles Tour, Titanic Experience and Brookside. Thanks for subscribing but I’m afraid we only have another few videos from our USA trip left. I have a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Vicar of Dibley video coming soon though.
Thanks Dave, I agree. It was amazing how the place hasn’t really changed in 65 years. Yeah, I’m the same, I love a runway hotel room. Thanks for watching. M&L
It was an amazing road trip. In fact we loved the whole 2 week vacation. So much to see and do. Thank you for your comment. We’re not a big channel with lots of viewers but this video has done better than most or ours. M&L

It’s perfectly fine. I wouldn’t walk around flashing all of your equipment but certainly the local area is safe. Perhaps avoid night time to reduce the potential for any issues. Thanks for watching. M&L
I don’t think we did either. Lovely place though. We actually filmed these back in February 2022 so I was quite cold and very wet. Thanks for watching. M&L
