In my perspective system thinking is the best way to understand the interaction of all the elements in a system, situations, problems, processes, etc. Helps to understand the external elements that are interconnected with internal elements. Helps to understand cause and effect and understand the root, the nucleus that creates the interconnection between internal and external elements, understanding the root helps to find a solution to a problem, a system, processes, etc. System thinking and cause and effect works together, but in my perspective systems thinking works with analytical thinking in order to analyze all the elements and creative thinking in order to create a new system or provide a creative solution.
