2010 Wide Glide happened at 80mph, can't honestly say what I was thinking I just let off the throttle until shit straightened out again around 50mph. Always attributed it to my changing from stock drag bars to 16in ape's without adjusting the fall away. That was 7 years ago and to this day I won't go over 80mph just out of fear of it happening again.
Dave moss please watch! There's a reason your tank slapping and it can be fixed. Your front wheel is higher then your back, your pushing your throttle hand way to hard and not twisting throttle correctly causing over steering to left, your front shocks are soft and back shock over stiff. There's many reasons that a tank slapper can happen, do the checklist and learnnnnn
hello did you try anything to help ? because im in the same boat I have 2007 street bob 120r engine bikes been tune 10 inch risers with a Memphis fairing, got the wobbles at 110 mph was thinking of Gpr stabiliser to help? if anyone knows anything let me know thanks
I had a tank slapper once on a 2004 Honda CBR600f4i. I was riding at night with a large group. We were going about 130mph on an empty highway. I hit a chuck of debris in the road, which suddenly turned the wheel all the way to the stop instantly. The front forks were oscillating against the stops so fast, it was a blur, and I had zero directional control. I just let go and rode it out. It stopped after about 3 seconds. One of the scariest experiences of my life.
Well done -- he noticed the beginning of it so immediately began reducing speed and even moved onto the shoulder to let it settle. Good driving and understanding of his machine
