I think it’s pretty sweet that they’re using live action suits now but I they’d kept the matte finish. It’s just a small detail that makes them distinct from stormtroopers.
Vaders helmet in ANH looked pretty wonky compared to the newer versions. The whole suit did. The chest box attached to him with leather straps isn't very advanced looking or a good design for what it's purpose was. The plugged in look of the chest box looks so much better than it strapped to him. It's looks like its a part that's plugged into him. That seems much more realistic to the purpose of the chest box that it just hanging around his neck. In fact, the entire suite looks more modular and plugged into Vaders body in the Obi Wan series. I thought that looked really good. All those boxes and the neck collar really were plugged into him and a functioning part of his body instead of just cool looking decorations.
I never even noticed the "characteristic" and how the helmet isn't symmetrical, I just always loved how scary and clean the revenge of the sith looked like. It looks like a medical device and not just a plastic helmet
Plenty of people keep praising the rogue one suit as the best Vader suit and claim ROTS ruined it, but I think these people are blind. The only thing holding the ROTS suit back is how lean it is. Everything else about it rocks.
A New Hope helmets were industrial design perfection. All the changes made after that took away from the original design. These changes were made because it was faster and cheaper than doing a good job, and at the time , no one thought these changes were important. Take the new hope helmets and perfect the symmetry and leave everything else as it was in the first film.
Me who is a total Darth Vader fan loves the asymmetrical in a new hope but I also love the symmetrical miss what they did in revenge of the Sith and why it makes it from a technological standpoint because of they're in a time period like say 4000. which would make them way advance enough to have technological advances for the helmet and arms and legs. For such an injury on Mustafar
19 years passes between Revenge of The Sith and A New Hope. It makes sense that his suit would change over time. I mean he wears it every single day and parts of it are robotic. Parts need to be replaced and the whole suit needs to be maintained. It just makes sense.
What Ainsworth is selling is not close to authentic in any way. It’s a pretty bad knock-off in both the helmet and the suit itself. I know because i purchased one and it was bad. Another company based in the UK RS Propmasters do have an exact replica.
You said it would make sense if the Vader helmet would be perfect and symmetrical like in ROTS with the advanced technology etc of the star wars world, have you seen the state of the battle worn ships and and troops armour etc in the star wars franchise lol, usually look like they've been to hell and back and that is what makes star wars what it is, Vader never looked meaner than in ANH the mask also had wider more pronounced cheeks lost on the later helmets that followed because they used new moulds when the original disappeared
I'm very positive that we are supposed to imagine the ST helmets in Solo, Rogue One, ANH, ESB, ROTJ, and Mandalorian are ALL exactly the same model - and any detail variations are just chalked up to wear, lighting, etc. In no way do I believe for one second that these are meant to be different stages or versions, as for example, between the Clone Trooper armor in ep 2 vs ep 3.
As a Star Wars fan and a former mega Star Wars fan, I think ROTS helmet fixed his helmet. I like how they didn't use an asymmetrical helmet for the two Jedi games unlike Battlefront. But at least his Battlefront helmet was all black and his dome was prolly symmetrical.
Vader's helmet in OWK wasn't perfectly symmetrical, it was somewhat symmetrical. But they shoulda used the ROTS helmet for OWK, or at least made Vader's helmet completely black but keep his triangular breathing vents silver or gray and his lenses red.
I don’t think it was an improvement per se, but I do believe it with the right choice as Hayden‘s head was smaller than Dave Prowse’s as was his physique. They had to make a smaller more slim down version so it looked normal.
The Revenge of the Sith version of Vader's suit is definitely my favorite. The different looking helmets, chest panels etc. can be explained away as parts being replaced as they break down or are damaged in combat.
i always loved how the ROTS helmet it looks great and i assume thats how palpatine would make it and is my fav design i would like to know what your thoughts on the fortnite design is for Vader and his helmet
The kenobi helmet has red lenses. I hope you made an updated version of this. You should also explain why they went with the symmetrical version. Lucas had always intended for it to be symmetrical. The molding process is why it's warped.
Liz Moore and Brian Muir designed the original Stormtrooper helmet. And Moore was the artist that sculpted it and the C3P0 helmet. Don’t believe me? Google “Liz Moore” and see for yourself. Ainsworth’s involvement was he had a vacuum form machine and could mass produce helmets for the film. But he was never involved in the creative process. Ainsworth is a fraud.
I disagree. It's what gives them their diversity. The screws were used more on the anh and esb molds and not on the rotj. The rotj ears are glued in place and not screwed in. Lucas wanted to do away with the screws as there were no screws in a space helmet as apparently there were no underwear either. Lol Anyway the rotj is the definitive variant to the ANH, ESB TK stunt hero or otherwise. It is the true last mold used so essentially marking the rotj an icon alongside its counterparts. In my opinion art can never ruin anything. It only distinguishes it.
....humph, when Vader gets a new helmet, its clean, new and symmetrical; over time it becomes used and "wonky"....no further explanation needed; it happens "off screen". PEACE and God bless.
I thought Revenge of the Sith had red eyes? There's that shot of the mask coming down and the vision is red. It's been awhile since I've seen it, so I don't know what colour the actual eyes are, but I remember that shot.
In-story could mirror real-life. In a huge galaxy with many different contractors and manufacturers, the Empire would probably have many different bidding contracts on the cheap. As long as the helmets were within spec, they were accepted.
Why would anybody have a problem with minor changes to Vader's helmet? He was in that suit for 20 or so years. Who's to say he didn't tinker with it in his spare time? Maybe (as is said here) he had multiple helmets. Maybe the ANH helmet was his "work helmet" and the other(s) were his "formal dress helmets". I don't see the problem.
