Nice trip report. Liked and subscribed. The premium economy seat really made your experience much more comfortable. The cabin was nowhere near the A350-1000, but I'd be happy to fly on JAL's B777-300ER as they're retiring soon

There is a trick with the pillow in PE. That slit across the back of the pillowcase is so the pillow can fit over the headrest of your seat. Then you can bend the wings of the headrest, fall asleep etc & the pillow won’t fall out of place. Also, if you are in an aisle seat… you can drop the side panel down. It makes getting in and out easier because you can turn in your seat to put your feet into the aisle before standing. Means you don’t need to hold onto (or pull) on the seat in front to get up.

Qantas has'nt changed, still serving crap for inflight service. Should have flown with Singapore Airlines, the food is like business class except your in Economy. I am and Ozzie abroad and stopped flying with Qantas 2 years ago. Spirit of Australia my arse.
I travelled from Bangalore to Sydney and back in 2022 by Qantas and had a very good experience. Qantas is really a praiseworthy Airline undoubtedly. May Qantas fly for many years to come. The non stop journey from Bangalore to Sydney had just begun on 14th September 2022.
