Used to fish there a lot when the town allowed us to stay over night on the public ramp. Then Darwin and Misty Gaynor started a camp ground across the street. Armstrongs, Big Johns Pizza, Dog and Suds and a nice breakfast place on Water St. OH and The Red Ryster down towards Duck Lake. Then came Ellenwood Landing and our stay over night was gone and the camp ground filled with all summer campers. We ended up finding another place down closer to Indiana, St Joe. But great memories from Whitehall/Montague
Yes we did. It’s 25’ but with the offshore bracket it’s just shy of 28’. We regularly launch there. Only thing that sucks is the duck weed and you have to be careful and stay in the middle of the lake it gets very shallow on the north side close to the launch.
Thanks for sharing. Please tell that young man who couldn’t trip the dipsey, “it’s a pop, NOT a tug”. If he keeps that technique, he’s going to blow out his L5-S1. It should be all in the forearms and hands. Just reel down tight to the fish, hold the spool with your thumb, and snap up hard like a boxer jabs.
I love this video. My daughter is a heck of a fisher person and gets little credit for it. I love seeing women who really are great fisher people showing everyone else how it’s done. I have just found your channel and subscribed!
Thank you David. My dad started my brother and I early. We lost him 10 years ago. I like to think he’d be proud. What I wouldn’t do to fish one more day with him. I also have a FB page for Team Some Girls Do. Thanks for the subscription 😁
it was like that with me last saturday for just 2 people in the boat and 6 lines in the water and try to keep up. a short period of time 10 salmon in 1/2 hour and they shut of just that fast
Feeding frenzy! I agree it happens, then it’s like flipping a switch and lock jaw. Congrats on your fun! We all hope for fun times like that every trip.
What port y'all out of.? I'm from east side of state. Coming to Ludington again this year on the 18th.. Usually hot fishing over there around that time. I like right on lake Huron so we get walleye action like you wouldn't believe lol but I love kings. We used to have awesome king fishing when I was younger. The alwives died off water got too clear and the kings have been gone for 15 years. Just the occasional one now.
We don’t have one set port. We start fishing in the spring in Michigan City and follow the fish north. We spent a week in Ludington for the tournaments. Fishing is really heating up in the last few days from Holland to Manistee. I’ve seen a lot of nice boxes. There’s so much bait this year. August will produce a lot of nice size fish I’m sure. We do get over to the Bay once salmon fishing ends and down to Erie.
About to do a shakedown in a friend's boat this weekend out of Port Sheldon. Then the big red classic at the end of the month. Can't wait, thanks for the video.
Tina that looks like such an adrenalin rush. I remember catching my first fish, it was a sunfish and I thought I had the world at the end of my line. This is awesome to watch.
