The 1971-1972 McLaren 8E and F were customer cars offered to anyone with the cash.. As a race mad 12 year old I was inspired by the small ad in the classified section of my weekly "Autosport" by Trojan cars offering an exact copy of last years CanAm winning Mclaren 8F. Not only that, if you did not have a motor, they could offer a selection of last years team Chevy 494 motors. I think Pete Sherman saw that ad too!
