I remember in 83 all my friends were listening to all this new-wave or cold-wave stuff, like Cure, Joy Division, etc... But I didn't really like all these groups. One day I went to my record store and heard Second Skin. It was love at first sight. I was seduced from the first notes. I immediately bought script of the bridge. In 84 I had the chance to see them for the first time in a small venue in Paris. I had goosebumps. I saw them again a year later for the release of what does which I loved, and which I still love 40 years later. The first two albums are my favorites. I saw them again in 86 and one last time in 2000 for their reformation. The Chameleons are part of my top 5 and will forever hold a place in my heart... ❤️
There are a lot of bands I like. But no band can reach my heart and make me want to pour it out like the Chameleons. The lyrics...the guitars...that sound. I am so glad you guys exist.
The Chameleons have to be my all time favourite band, ‘what does anything mean? Basically?’ And ‘script of the bridge’ have both got me through so much in the last few years. I can’t wait to see them in December alongside another favourite of mine vision video. They mean the absolute world to me.
fantastic recording, these guys are untouchable and somehow missed the boat in success, the script album gives me Goosebumps and transports me back to my teens late 70s early 80s. this is up there with the Camden hse live gig.
je suis suisse et ca fait 15 an que je vous ai connu et il ne ce passe pas une semaine sen que je puise vous entendre .merci pour votre fabuleuse musique .je vous adore
Wow! I saw the Chameleons 37 times..Chams Vox 4/5 times maybe, and seen many vids of their many iterations .. TBVH they have always been a very/fairly poor version of the original band but this is the first time in a while I've seen the new Chameleons lineup with a good video and great sound. Absolutely as close to the original lineup I've heard.. The odd Dave part plucked string a little heavy and course-sounding but only a touch too harsh imo.. And of course being a good friend of DF's I am being extra critical and observant.. But you would struggle to hear much of a difference. Having Reg back has certainly held the whole thing together so much more and the new guitarist is well up there let's be honest ..A natural sounding replacement .. Actually enjoying this.. :)
I have only discovered Mark Burgess and The Chameleons within the last couple of years, but I am thankful I did. The music just touches my soul, how have I not heard you before, especially growing up through the 80's. Keep doing what you're doing, you're awesome. Going to see you guys in August 😄
I have been seeing them since 1983. Love this band, and have not missed one show since then! In the Boston MA, going to see them on August 10th! Psyched to see them, AGAIN! 😊
Been listening to these songs for some years now and to finally hear the stories behind them is such a lovely gift. Thanks, Mark, for sharing them and your genius with the world! Second Skin is probably my favourite song ever and I'll never listen to it the same way again. Lots of love all the way from Brazil. ❤
Hace poco tiempo descubrí y conecté con esta banda y no puedo dejar de escuchar ultimamente un puñado de sus canciones, son hermosas. Gracias por la música que alimenta el espíritu de forma inexplicable!
19:24 Dance , dance ,dance to the radio ,great tribute to Joy Division. The Chameleons sound beautifully great so far.All the musicians in the band are brilliant
I'm not a big fan of unplug performances, but this is The Chameleons and their signature electric guitar is here so it's a big win. Excellent, thank you Marc and your bandmates for all the incredible music.
Today walking surrounded by my Family, on a very dark stretch of the road, I return looking for better melodic memories of my walk, and I arrive at the eternal "Chameleons"...there must be some wrong, boys....Eden, there is no Eden...anyway....love
