Learn how to build, grow and scale you RU-vid channel
Hey, I'm Oscar, a RU-vidr with over 8 years of experience. My main channel has over 1.3 million subscribers and 250 million views. Ready to take YOUR channel to the next level?
This is my second channel where I will teach you how to build, grow and scale your own RU-vid channel.
If you're serious about RU-vid success then subscribe now!
I’ve already made more than sixty high quality short videos that I posted on my other account on Tiktok (that I may even delete because I wanna focus on RU-vid) I’d just love to use these since they’re good and I’ve spent so much time on them :-) So you really believe that the impact of posting them would be net negative since I’ve already spent the time to actually make those videos?
Shorts destroyed my channel and made me create a new channel just as you've done. In a nutshell, Shorts are not worth it when done with long form together.
Thanks so much for your sharing, including the highs and the lows. Initially, my highschool child watched your other channel, and I recognised your face when RU-vid recommended your channel to me. I believe your success arise from your insights. Not only are you proficient in magic, but you also have strong critical thinking skills and you are able think outside the box, which helps you utilise RU-vid as a platform without solely relying on it. It's inspiring. Thank you for being so generous in sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us. And yes, congrats on 1.3M subscribers on the other channel. Btw, if possible, do you think you can share how a creator to set up their camera and audio at a low budget?
Thanks for watching and the kind words. I appreciate your children watching my magic channel! With regards to your question - upgrade your audio first, and have the mic close to your mouth. Get the Rode Video II Mic if you are on a budget. Camera wise you want something with a low 'f-stop' which will give you the nice blurred background. I usually recommend the Sony ZV-E10 with a 16mm Sigma f 1.8 lens. Hope that helps
Anybody help ⚠️🧐 @oscarowen3 I have a doubt One of my short hit 10k views which has 90% audience retention, most of views from USA, Canada, Phillipines. Also another one hit 10k views on another, but has 63% audience retention, because most are from *india* 😭... India viewer make nothing & destroys audience retention So how can I prevent it??
I’m loving your content Oscar, thank you. I’m a 47yr old Dad to four young boys under six. I work full time as an airline pilot and am building a Lego channel on the side. What I have seen of your videos so far have been great and I haven’t even checked out your magic channel yet, although I should because I’m sure my kids would LOVE it!! Thanks again for putting these vids together 🙏🏼
You got a sub from me! One thing I want to try is making shorts on a separate channel, I posed some before but it seemed to tank my views on the same channel. Thoughts? Also <3 your editing. I'm still learning. Could you point me in the right direction for this style? Thanks Victor
Hi,So I post shorts as a way to advertise my long form cooking videos and I have gotten more subscribers and views from the shorts but now my long form is really suffering..I post just one shorts and long form once a week on different days. Don’t know if I should stop shorts completely?
Hey Oscar , really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what do you think ?
Good tips! I'm a bit worried though about learning some of this tools, changing my workflow to include them and then... a few weeks later Davinci Resolve has integrated some of those capabilities. That said, it's incredible to see that these tools exist!
Thanks so much. Great video. So many excellent tips. Gling has been a game changer for me. It has shaved a couple of hours of editing. It is incredible for producing a rough cut to drop into my editing software to start adding the effects.
