The idea came from the late Jane Perkins, New Zealand based artist, filmmaker and nature lover, and it was later completed by her friends Annie Collins and John McKay in memory of Jane. My wife is a school teacher . It seems to me that first and foremost the parents send their kids to school to dump on teachers for the day and second for the education . There is a total lack of values and morals being installed into children , entitled parents are raising entitled children and should a teacher attempt to discipline a child or even manage their behaviour then it’s quickly responded to with an email to the school from an entitled parent who resents someone doing a job that they have clearly failed to do . With social issues in communities gathering momentum it seems to me that the last place I would want my child educated at is a public school . Teachers are doing their best but people are breeding who really should have been sterilised .

Really enjoyed this, my favorite part & kind of stand out on its own was " Dad, l love my life" that was perfect & a true blessing for any parent to hear. It truly sums up all that this family has been working towards & gives conformation for their decision. Bless them all so very much. I would say this directly but noted their no screens policy & good on them too! I raised my kids with no tv until some what older & no internet until they left home. I still have no tv & only use the data on my phone for research & staying connected with loved ones 👌
I love this couple! I would love to sit down with them and have an afternoon chat over a tea or coffee.... They are amazing and I wish more NZers were like this.
On the subject of deforestation... Sir Joseph Banks mentioning the birdlife off Dusky Sound from the Endeavour, moored a fair distance from shore with the deafening sounds of birdlife before the sun rose... sadly not anymore.
