Did you use the plumber putty for the sink to flange connection? If you don’t have a dishwasher then you should keep the drain plug in. If you removed it then it will leak there. Also these should be a rubber washer with that black elbow so if you used a different one it may not seat properly.
@DIYwithMAX
@DIYwithMAX 6 дней назад
A garbage disposal that's leaking from the mounting hardware can be caused by a number of issues, including: Loose mounting bolts: The mounting bolts may need to be tightened. To do this, unplug the disposal, remove any obstructions, and use a wrench to tighten the bolts until they're snug. Double check your assembly: The mounting assembly may not be properly assembled. Excessive plumber's putty: There may be too much plumber's putty under the sink flange. Something’s to consider.

Google luck brother. I’m not surprised it’s a lot of work. If you live in the place make sure you have great fan in the window to pull the dust out and test your popcorn for asbestos if you’re removing popcorn ceilings. Cover everything with plastic. We did not live in the place so we did not take that step. We used n95 masks but respirators are better. Spend the money it’s worth it. And let me know if you have any questions I’m happy to help in any way I can.

Great overview, but please... don't use those J-bend flex adapters (shown at 2:46). They become clogged very easily. Always try to use smooth pipe adapters and adjust your install to make it all fit properly, even if that means some extra parts are needed. When I moved into my house, the "plumber" used those flex pipes in the kitchen and both baths and when I pulled them out, they were a mess. Full of crud that accumulated in the folds. No wonder my sink stunk so bad.

What's that purple stuff
@DIYwithMAX
@DIYwithMAX Месяц назад
Hahaha I’m glad you asked. It’s special formulated mud that goes on purple or pink and then when it dries, it turns white so this way you visually can confirm that whatever you’re repairing is completely dry and ready for sanding. And it looks good on Camera to show just how many repairs are done on these ceilings lol. It’s not necessary, but it does help if you’re working in multiple rooms and you’re standing one room while the other one’s dry and vice versa. It was super helpful in the bathrooms because of the moisture, it showed us that everything we fixed had to dry overnight instead of us, sanding it not completely dry and having to redo our work.

Did you add the crown molding because you couldnt get the corners perfect? Im removing thr popcorn right now.. myself in my new house. 4 rooms had the popcorn and im struggling now to get the corners perfect. I put a sander attachment on my drill and ive been going at it at an angle but i still cant get every little piece. Its super annoying.
@DIYwithMAX
@DIYwithMAX Месяц назад
It sounds like you're putting in some solid effort! The corners can be really tricky when dealing with popcorn ceilings. Here's what I recommend: 1. Use a Hand Sander: Instead of the drill attachment, try using a hand sander or sanding sponge with a fine grit (120-150). This gives you more control, especially in the corners. 2. Light Pressure: When sanding, apply light pressure. You don’t want to dig too deep and damage the drywall underneath. 3. Wet Sanding: You can also dampen the area slightly with a spray bottle before sanding. This helps keep dust down and makes it easier to remove stubborn bits. 4. Finishing Touch: Once you've sanded as much as you can, if there are still imperfections, use a thin layer of joint compound to smooth out the corners. Let it dry, sand it lightly again, and you should be good to go! Molding is always a great finishing touch, but this should help you get those corners perfect!

I saw the video, and I am an expert, I saw many mistakes that only lead to mediocre, imprecise and slow work. When designing a room, you just need to clear the room, choose the design, and put a starting line, always use the level even if the floor is level, always put the shims even if you use plastic levelers, for the grout use the sponge with a bucket for tilers, and to cut the tiles just use the hand tile cutter. The problem is not watching the video and seeing the work in person, you will certainly notice many defects.

@DIYwithMAX
@DIYwithMAX Месяц назад
That is a great question. When you walk in to the condo your eye goes to the left because of all the entrances and the tile all looks whole on the left side. As for the right side the cut tile go behind the front door when it’s open and the openings on the right to the closets also give the right wall a look of having full tiles the whole way. And it allowed us to use some of its we already had to minimize waste.

You should watch a few painting videos …you have a lot to learn before you try to teach . You should paint a ceiling from wall to wall on the shortest distance , which are the walls on your left and right. And work your way back to the end of the ceiling. Keeping a wet edge in the process … you should look into the problems caused by dry edges because your paint job is full of them . the way your painting is setting up people for failure
@DIYwithMAX
@DIYwithMAX Месяц назад
I appreciate you’re interested in improving my painting technique! However, there are key point to clarify: When painting a ceiling in a room with a large window, the best practice is to paint in the direction of the natural light coming from the window. Here’s why: Minimize Visible Imperfections: By painting from side to side of a large window, any minor imperfections, such as roller marks or uneven texture, will be more noticeable. Light from the window tends to highlight flaws if you paint across it. Direction of Painting: While painting from wall to wall can work, many professionals recommend painting in the same direction as the longest wall in the direction of natural light. This helps reduce the number of roller marks and ensures a more seamless finish, especially in larger rooms. The longest direction allows for fewer start and stop points, minimizing the chances of leaving noticeable lines or streaks. Working Your Way Across: Instead of working from one side of the room to the other, it’s often better to start from the area farthest from the exit and work your way towards it maintaining a wet edge. Maintaining a Wet Edge: You’re absolutely right about the importance of keeping a wet edge. It prevents overlapping marks and ensures an even coat of paint. If you paint too slowly or take breaks, the paint can start to dry, leading to visible lines. Painting a ceiling can be tricky, but with the right techniques, you’ll get better results. I try to keep practicing as every project is an opportunity to learn!
